In the US, many tattoo shops will do specials on Friday the 13th, which is usually a small and quick tattoo that you select from a pre-designed list, or a flash sheet. They're usually Friday the 13th related, but it's up to the style of the artist.

honestly, the flash sale thing is hit or miss here compared to the US. i've seen a few spots like Iron & Ink in Prenzlauer Berg do themed flash sheets on friday the 13th, but they're often more about the design than a deep discount. if you're near Warschauer Strasse, check out Bulo Tattoo's insta a couple days before - they sometimes drop a small flash set around 30-50 euros. just know that berlin artists tend to take their time even with tiny tattoos, so don't expect a 5-minute job like back home

Pretty much what everyone else said, it's a thing but not as huge. One place I haven't seen mentioned is Schauer & Söhne in Wedding, they do little flash days sometimes. Just keep an eye on their Instagram story highlights a day or two before.

yeah it's a thing here but way less commercial than in the states. some shops do it more as a fun tradition than a big sale event. check out Wunderkammer Tattoo in Neukölln or Schwarzmarkt in Mitte, they've done flash days before but it's usually first come first served so lines can form early. also heads up, most artists take cash only for these smaller pieces so hit an ATM beforehand

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
