Also looking for the best source for spices, herbs, and loose leaf tea.

Higher the quality the better (organic grass fed etc)

You can DM me too!

Thank you!

Another solid option for meat is Fleischerei Domke in Schöneberg, right off Hauptstraße. They've been around forever and do all the classic German cuts plus offal like tripe if you ask at the counter. Not everything is organic but they source from regional farms and the quality is consistent.

For spices and tea, skip the tourist spots and hit Asia Markt Dong Xuan in Lichtenberg. It's mostly Vietnamese but they have bulk bags of star anise, cinnamon sticks, and loose teas for a fraction of what you'd pay at Pfefferminze. The tea selection is basic compared to a specialty shop but their black and jasmine loose leaf is solid for everyday drinking. Just bring cash, some stalls don't take card.

fwiw for meat, try Der Metzger in Friedrichshain on Boxhagener Straße. they do whole animal butchery and usually have oxtail and osso buco in stock, just call ahead. not everything is organic but they know their farmers and can tell you exactly where each cut comes from

for spices and loose leaf tea, head to Pfefferminze near Warschauer. huge selection of loose teas and bulk spices, way better than supermarket quality. they also have stuff like sumac and za'atar if you're into that. tbh their herb blends are solid for the price

if you're out in Brandenburg, there's also Fleischerei Wagner in Potsdam. old school place, they do tripe and offal regularly. bit of a drive but worth it if you're already out that way

for online meat, try kumpel & keule's web shop. they deliver in berlin/brandenburg and do grass-fed beef, oxtail pops up sometimes. not always cheap but quality's legit

for loose leaf tea, cha no ma in neukölln has some really good japanese stuff if that's ur thing. otherwise klunkerkranich's little shop in the market hall does a few spices too but it's random

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
