Break for lunch at III Draakon (Raekoja plats 1, soups 5-7 euros, open 11:00-23:00) before exploring Toompea Castle and the Kiek in de Kök tower (12 euros, open 10:00-18:00).

🚶 Afternoon in Old Town
From 14:00, wander through the charming St. Catherine's Passage (Katariina käik) and browse the craft workshops. Visit the Estonian History Museum (6 euros, open 10:00-18:00) or the Museum of Occupations (9 euros, open 10:00-18:00) for context on the country's past. End the afternoon at the viewing platforms of Kohtuotsa and Patkuli (free) for classic rooftop photos, then descend to the lower town for a coffee at Maiasmokk (Pikk 16, open 9:00-19:00).

🍽️ Evening in Old Town
Dinner at Rataskaevu 16 (mains 15-20 euros, book ahead) is a local favorite for Estonian dishes. Afterward, enjoy a drink at the cozy Frank bar (Sauna 2, open 12:00-02:00) or the hidden speakeasy Karja Kelder (Väike-Karja 1, open 12:00-23:00). The Old Town is compact, so walking between spots takes under 10 minutes.

🎨 Day 2: Kalamaja and Telliskivi
Take tram 1 or 2 from the city center to Telliskivi (10-minute ride, tickets 2 euros from the driver or use the QR code). Start at 10:00 at the Telliskivi Creative City, a former factory complex filled with street art, boutiques, and cafes like F-hoone (Telliskivi 60a, mains 10-15 euros, open 9:00-23:00). Explore the Estonian Railway Museum (8 euros, open 10:00-18:00) and the nearby Seaplane Harbour (14 euros, open 10:00-19:00).

🏘️ Kalamaja Neighborhood Walk
From 13:00, stroll through the wooden houses of Kalamaja, stopping at the Kalamaja Museum (free, open 12:00-18:00) and the trendy coffee shop Kohvik Kalamaja (Vana-Kalamaja 16, open 8:00-18:00). Walk 15 minutes to the Balti Jaam Market (open 7:00-20:00) for local produce and street food. Return to the center by tram or on foot (25 minutes).

🌳 Day 3: Kadriorg and Pirita

Then walk 20 minutes through Kadriorg Park to the Peter the Great House Museum (5 euros, open 10:00-17:00).

🌊 Pirita and Seaside
From Kadriorg, take bus 34a or 1a to Pirita (15 minutes) and visit the ruins of St. Bridget's Convent (free, open 9:00-17:00). Walk along the Pirita beach promenade and enjoy lunch at the Pirita Yacht Club (Regati puiestee 1, mains 12-18 euros, open 12:00-22:00). Return to the center by bus (20 minutes) or take a scenic 30-minute walk back through Kadriorg.

🚋 Transport and Practical Tips
Tallinn's public transport is efficient; buy a 72-hour ticket (9 euros) from R-kiosk or using the mobile app. Trams and buses run every 5-10 minutes, and most trips within the center take under 15 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes for cobblestones, and note that many museums are closed on Mondays. For dining, book popular spots like Rataskaevu 16 at least a day ahead.

the 72h ticket covers all transport but you still have to tap in each ride, inspectors do check

Solid plan, but swap the Town Hall Tower climb for St. Olaf's church tower instead, the view over the rooftops is better and it's cheaper.

Nice work pulling all this together. One thing I'd add: the Balti Jaam Market food hall gets packed at weekends, so go on a weekday morning if you can. Also the Kalamaja wooden house streets are best photographed in the late afternoon light.

🏰 Explore the Old Town
Tallinn's UNESCO-listed Old Town is best explored on foot, starting at Viru Gate and winding through the cobbled streets to the Town Hall Square (Raekoja plats). Climb the 258-step Town Hall Tower (open 10:00-18:00 in summer, 3 euros) for panoramic views, and don't miss the 15th-century apothecary on the square's north side, still operating today. Insider tip: visit St. Olaf's Church (St. Olaf's Church, Lai 50) early in the morning to avoid crowds and hear the bells.

🖼️ Museums Worth Your Time
The Kumu Art Museum (Weizenbergi 34) in Kadriorg is a must for contemporary Estonian art, with tickets at 14 euros and free entry on the last Wednesday of each month. For history buffs, the Estonian History Museum in the Great Guild Hall (Pikk 17) offers a compact but engaging look at the country's past. The Seaplane Harbour Museum (Vesilennuki 6) is a hit with families, featuring a real submarine and interactive exhibits, open daily 10:00-19:00 in summer.

🌳 Parks and Green Spaces
Kadriorg Park is Tallinn's most elegant green space, home to the Kadriorg Palace (built for Peter the Great) and the nearby Peter the Great House Museum. Rent a bike from the city's affordable bike-share system (3 euros per day) and cycle along the seaside promenade from Pirita to the Old Town. For a quieter escape, head to the Botanical Garden (Kloostrimetsa 52), open 10:00-20:00 in summer, with a modest 5-euro entry.

🍽️ Local Food and Drink
Estonian cuisine shines at places like Rataskaevu 16 (Rataskaevu 16), where you can try modern takes on Baltic dishes like elk sausage and black bread. For a casual bite, visit the Balti Jaam Market (Kopli 1), open daily 9:00-19:00, where stalls sell everything from smoked fish to artisanal chocolate. Don't leave without sampling kama (a traditional grain mixture) or a slice of kringel, a sweet cardamom bread.

🎭 Cultural Experiences
Catch a performance at the Estonian National Opera (Estonia pst 4), where tickets for ballet or opera start around 15 euros. The Telliskivi Creative City (Telliskivi 60a) is a former industrial complex turned hub for galleries, studios, and street art, with many venues open until late. In August, the Tallinn Medieval Days festival brings jousting and crafts to the Old Town, a unique way to experience local heritage.

🚶 Walking Tours and Day Trips
Free walking tours depart daily at 10:00 and 12:00 from the Tourist Information Centre (Niguliste 2), covering the main sights and history. For a day trip, take a 30-minute ferry to Naissaar island (tickets around 10 euros) for hiking and Soviet-era ruins. Alternatively, the 1-hour bus to Lahemaa National Park (departs from Tallinn Bus Station) offers stunning coastal trails and manor houses.

🛍️ Shopping and Souvenirs
The Balti Jaam Market (Kopli 1) is great for local produce and crafts, while the nearby Telliskivi district has design shops like Nu Nordik (Telliskivi 60a) for Estonian-made goods. For traditional wool sweaters and linen, browse the stalls along Katariina käik (St. Catherine's Passage) in the Old Town. Prices are reasonable: expect 20-50 euros for a handmade scarf or 10-15 euros for a small ceramic piece.

🌙 Evening Activities
As the sun sets, head to the trendy Kalamaja district for craft beer at Pudel Baar (Telliskivi 60a) or cocktails at Sigmund Freud (Lai 29). For a unique experience, visit the Tallinn TV Tower (Kloostrimetsa 58a), open until 22:00 in summer, for night views from its 170-meter observation deck. In winter, cozy up in a traditional sauna at Kalma Saun (Vana-Kalamaja 9), open until 23:00, for an authentic local ritual.

Nice roundup. One thing I'd add: the Town Hall Tower queue gets long by midday, so go right at 10:00 opening. Also check the tower's tiny lift if the 258 steps sound rough.

St. Olaf's, 9am before the tour groups.

Skoone bastion's free rampart walk beats any paid viewpoint for a quiet look over the rooftops.
