After lunch at a nearby koshary shop (a bowl costs about 15 EGP), head to the iconic El Sayed El Badawy Mosque, a 5-minute walk from the square. The mosque is open to visitors outside prayer times, and non-Muslims can enter the courtyard. Next, visit the nearby St. George Church, about a 10-minute walk away, to see the Coptic architecture. Both sites are free to enter, but donations are welcome.

🌳 Day 1 Evening: Riverside Walk
As the sun sets, take a 15-minute taxi ride (around 20 EGP) to the Nile corniche in Tanta, a popular spot for locals to walk and relax. Enjoy a street food snack like grilled corn or sweet potato from the vendors along the path. For dinner, try the fresh fish at El Borg Restaurant on the corniche, where a meal for two costs about 150 EGP. The area is lively until late, so take your time.

🏺 Day 2 Morning: Local Markets
Begin Day 2 at 9:00 AM with a visit to the Tanta Souq, a sprawling market where you can find everything from spices to textiles. Solid plan overall, but I'd swap the Day 3 bus to Samannoud for a trip to El Mahalla El Kubra instead, the train is quick and the textile factories are worth a look. Also double check the Nile corniche bit, Tanta sits a fair way from the river so that stretch is more canal than Nile.
