yeah this is a great list, the osmanthus cakes near old town are legit but they're way better fresh in the morning when the flower syrup is still warm. the stall on the east side of the square near the big banyan tree is the original one, been there since the 90s, the lady uses less sugar so the floral taste comes through more
for a mid-range option i'd throw in Yang's Kitchen on Fumin Road, it's this tiny place with maybe six tables run by a retired couple. their twice-cooked pork is 38 yuan but it's the best in town, they use this homemade doubanjiang that's been aged for two years. no english menu but just point at what other people are eating
the riverside kitchen is solid but ngl the wait can be brutal on weekends, i'd book a day ahead even for two people. also if you're doing the food tour skip the one from the tourism office and look up Old Chen's tour on wechat, same price but he takes you to his own favorite stalls and you get way more food for the money
the tea house is legit, the garden out back is super peaceful and they'll let you sit there for hours with one pot. also if you're near the south gate bazaar after 6pm there's a guy selling sugarcane juice with a squeeze of lime, perfect for washing down all the heavy food
honestly this is a solid guide, i live near sanzhou and you nailed the big ones. one thing i'd add is the dry pot chicken at Spicy Corner on Dongfeng Road is actually better than the mapo tofu imo it's like 28 yuan and comes with these crispy lotus root slices that are insane
also if you're at the Night Market Alley don't skip stall #18 right next to the jianbing place. they do these grilled skewers with cumin lamb and a sweet soy glaze, 2 yuan each and way less crowded than the famous ones. i always grab 10 before hitting grandma liu's for buns

sounds like a solid plan. for day 3, if u have time after the forest park, the bus back drops u near the east gate dumpling house on renmin road. their xiaolongbao are 12 rmb for 8 and way better than anything in the cultural quarter food court tbh. also the antique market is good for looking but prices there are inflated for tourists, better luck at the weekend flea market by the old train station if you're serious about bargaining
that's a really well thought out itinerary. if you're there on a sunday, the jade pagoda opens at 8am instead of 10 and there's a little morning tai chi group that practices in the courtyard, they're usually happy for you to just watch quietly. also for the forest park, the bus 101 stop is actually on the other side of the station square, not right outside the main entrance, it's easy to miss if you're not looking for the little blue sign
