ooh the jasmine tea spot on willow street is a good mention but if you're already over there theres a guy who sells grilled rice cakes from a cart at the corner of willow and pine around 5pm, no sign just the smell of charred rice and sesame oil. 3 yuan for two and he'll sprinkle them with this spicy powder thatll make your eyes water but in a good way
one thing the guide left out is the old bathhouse on south avenue, it's been running since the 70s and costs 15 yuan for entry. the hot spring water comes straight from the ground and theres this old tiled room where everyone just sits in silence soaking, real nice after a day of walking. they close at 6pm though so go before dinner
also the bamboo courtyard is great but watch out for the stray dog with the white patch on his ear, he hangs around the ceramic studio and will follow you if you have food. friendly guy just persistent, i named him dumpling cause he once stole a pork bun right out of my hand

If you go at 6:30 AM, an old woman near the back entrance sells fresh chestnut cakes from a basket, still warm, wrapped in banana leaves for 3 yuan each. She's been there every morning I've visited for the last year, and the cakes taste like the ones my neighbor's grandmother used to make.
yeah this is a great guide, i'd just add that shuyuan alley bookshops have this unspoken rule where if you buy a book they'll stamp your receipt and after three stamps you get a free tea at the little place next door, the one with the blue doorframe. also if you're into used books the shop two doors down from the pharmacy on willow street has a hidden back room with old maps of qincheng from the 80s, the owner will show you if you ask nicely
