Nightlife in Longba?

Headed to Longba in two months and wondering what the nightlife scene is like. Any recommendations for bars or clubs that stay open late? Headed to Longba in two months and wondering what the nightlife scene is like. Any recommendations for bars or clubs that stay open late?

The old market stretch is fine but gets touristy. If you want something more local, head to the alley behind the train station. There is a basement place called The Vault that does live music on Fridays and Saturdays, mostly local indie bands and the occasional DJ. They pour strong drinks and the crowd is usually a mix of students and workers who actually live here. Just know the music stops at 1am sharp because of noise complaints from the apartments above.

honestly Longba's nightlife is pretty low-key compared to bigger cities but there's a few solid spots. I'd check out the riverside stretch near the old market, there's a place called Red Lantern that stays open til 2am most nights and has decent local craft beer. if you're looking for something louder, the club scene is mostly around the south gate area but it gets dead after midnight on weekdays. tbh your best bet is just grabbing some street skewers and beers from the corner shops by the bridge, that's where the real late night energy is

You really had to pick the deadest corner of the province for nightlife. The only thing open past 10pm on a Tuesday is the noodle stall next to the bus station and even they'll be packing up by 11. If you're dead set on going out, drag yourself to

🗺️ Day 1 Overview
Start your Longba trip in the Old Town, where narrow lanes and traditional architecture set the tone. Plan to arrive by 9:00 AM to avoid crowds and enjoy a relaxed morning. The area is compact, so you can cover most sights on foot.

🏛️ Morning: Old Town Highlights
Visit the Longba Ancient Temple (123 Old Street, open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, entry 30 RMB). Then stroll to the Central Square, where local artisans sell handmade crafts. Allow 2 hours for this loop, including a short tea break at a courtyard cafe.

🍜 Lunch: Local Noodle House
Head to Noodle King (45 Market Lane, open 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM) for a bowl of hand-pulled beef noodles at 25 RMB. The broth is rich and the portions generous. Arrive before 12:30 PM to beat the lunch rush.

🎨 Afternoon: Art District
Take a 15-minute walk to the Riverside Art District, home to galleries and street murals. The Longba Contemporary Art Center (12 River Road, free entry, closed Mondays) features rotating exhibits. Spend 1.5 hours exploring before heading to a nearby rooftop bar for views.

🌆 Evening: Night Market Stroll
The Longba Night Market (East Gate Street, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM) offers skewers, dumplings, and grilled fish. Try the spicy tofu skewers for 10 RMB. The atmosphere is lively, with live music and lanterns. Budget 1.5 hours for grazing.

🏞️ Day 2: Nature Escape
Dedicate Day 2 to the Longba National Forest Park, a 30-minute bus ride from the city center (Bus 101 from Central Station, 5 RMB). The park opens at 7:00 AM and costs 60 RMB. Hike the Cloud Trail (3 km, moderate) for panoramic views, then picnic by the waterfall.

🚌 Getting Around Longba
Public buses cost 2-5 RMB per ride and cover most attractions. Taxis start at 10 RMB, but traffic peaks at 8:00-9:00 AM and 5:00-7:00 PM. For Day 3, consider renting a bicycle (20 RMB per day from shops near the train station) to explore the southern suburbs.

💡 Local Tips for 2026
Book accommodations near the Old Town for easy access to Day 1 and Day 3 sights. Many shops close between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM for lunch. Carry cash, as smaller vendors may not accept cards. Download a translation app for menus.

This is a really well thought out plan, you've hit the main spots without overpacking the days. One thing I'd add is that the Noodle King place is worth the noise, but if you want a quieter lunch on Day 1, try the dumpling stall two doors down on Market Lane, they do a fantastic pork and chive dumpling for 15 RMB and it's usually much calmer. For Day 2, the bus 101 can be packed by 8 AM, so I'd catch the 7:30 bus if you want a seat and a quieter start on the Cloud Trail. Also, the rooftop bar near the art district is called The Lookout, and their jasmine tea is better than the cocktails, just a heads up.

good plan, covers the essentials without trying to do too much. one thing the guide doesnt mention is that the night market stalls on the east side (furthest from the entrance) tend to have shorter lines and fresher food, the locals know this. also, if you are there on a tuesday or thursday morning, the old town has a small produce market on mulberry lane thats mostly ignored by tourists, great for picking up some local fruit for the forest park hike. the 7:30 bus tip from the other comment is solid, i second that

solid itinerary, the old town tip about arriving early is spot on. just a heads up, the noodle king gets crazy loud around noon so if youre sensitive to noise maybe grab it to go and eat by the central square fountain. also, if you have time on day 3, the southern suburbs bike ride is nice but check out the little temple at the end of mulberry lane, its tucked away and usually empty, way more peaceful than the ancient temple. i always bring a reusable water bottle because the tap water is fine in longba and it saves buying plastic at every stop
