fwiw the guide's right about the night market timing but if you go closer to 8 PM the lamb skewers from stall #17 get a bit dry since they pre-grill a batch. i wait for them to make a fresh one right in front of you, takes like 5 extra minutes but the cumin hits different when it's still sizzling
also the food court in New World is solid for a quick bite but the basement level has a hotpot noodle place that does this mala broth with beef slices for 22 RMB. way better than the braised pork rice upstairs and you get to watch them pull the noodles right there. prob 50 seats max so get there before noon
one thing i'd add is the fruit stalls along Gongnong Street near the BBQ area - they sell these giant peaches in summer for like 3 RMB each that are insanely juicy. perfect palate cleanser between all the greasy skewers and beer
the guide's right about lao bian dumpling house being good but if you go at lunch rush expect a 20 minute wait. i usually hit them up right when they open at 11 and grab the pork and cabbage dumplings instead of chive - theyre juicier and the cabbage holds up better in the takeout box if you want to walk over to the white pagoda and eat there
one thing nobody mentioned is the tofu pudding carts that pop up around wenhua road in late afternoon around 4 pm. there's a lady with a blue cart near the old tea house who does both sweet and savory versions for 5 RMB. the savory one with soy sauce and pickled radish is the move after walking around all day

Good to see a proper guide for Liaoyang, most people skip straight to Shenyang. The guo bao rou at Wang Ji that someone mentioned is legit, I'd also say their hand-pulled noodles are worth ordering if you're already there, the broth has this depth from simmering pork bones all day.
For the hotpot crowd, the place on Wenhua Road with the yellow sign is a solid call, but go on a weekday afternoon around 2 PM when it's empty and the owner has time to chat. He'll tell you about the lamb sourcing from a farm out in the hills near the city, makes the experience feel more local. Just remember to bring cash like that other person said, their card reader is spotty.
The grilled corn at the night market is a hidden gem, I'd add that the guy also does roasted sweet potatoes in the fall for 5 RMB each, wrapped in newspaper to keep them hot. Perfect for when the weather gets cold and you want something warm in your hands while walking around.

if you're into photography, hit longding mountain around 4pm instead of the afternoon slot. the light hits the temple ruins just right and you get the city skyline in the background without the midday haze. also, the bus drivers on route 3 can be a bit aggressive so hold onto something if you're standing.
yo this is a solid itinerary, i live here and id tweak one thing. day 3's tanghe hot springs are nice but honestly the bus there is way cheaper than a taxi, route 12 goes past the east gate for 2 yuan and drops u a 10 min walk away. also the white pagoda park is free but if u go at like 6am u can catch the old guys doing tai chi and singing opera, its a vibe u wont see later
solid plan, i've done a similar route a few times. one thing that's worth slotting in day 1 is the small folk art museum tucked behind the white pagoda, it's free and has some cool paper-cutting and shadow puppet displays that most tourists miss. also for day 2 dinner, instead of haidilao which is fine but generic, try the lamb skewers at a place called xinjiang dapanji on minzhu road, it's about 60 yuan a person and the cumin flavor is way better than anything on xinhua street. the bus to the hot springs is definitely the move, route 12 runs every 15 mins and saves you 40 bucks
