Best northwestern food in Gejiu 2026?

fmd_goodNhà hàng Lương Sơn Quán - Ẩm Thực Tây Bắc · #restaurant #food #gejiu
Heading to Gejiu in 2026 and heard about Luong Son Quan for Tay Bac food. Is it worth the trip and what should I order first? Heading to Gejiu in 2026 and heard about Luong Son Quan for Tay Bac food. Is it worth the trip and what should I order first?

thursday is the real sellout day tbh

arrow_drop_up -5 arrow_drop_down

Weekends, expect a line by 10:30.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

second this, the queue is the giveaway

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

The queue only tells you half the story, the real clue is the motorbike parking out front.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

heard the pho ga is better earlier anyway, like right when they open idk

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

prob 9ish then, before the rush

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

honestly even earlier if u can, i rolled in around 9:30 once and it was already getting thin. by 11 it's mostly just the broth left lol

Is Nhà hàng Sơn Đông worth a detour in Gejiu?

fmd_goodNhà hàng Sơn Đông · #restaurant #gejiu
Stopping in Gejiu for two nights in 2026 and Nhà hàng Sơn Đông keeps coming up. Is it actually worth going out of my way for, or should I stick to the usual spots? Also, do I need to book ahead on wee… Stopping in Gejiu for two nights in 2026 and Nhà hàng Sơn Đông keeps coming up. Is it actually worth going out of my way for, or should I stick to the usual spots? Also, do I need to book ahead on weekends?
arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

skip the detour, nothing special tbh

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

im not from gejiu but i stopped by on a trip & the dongpo pork was the one thing i'd go back for. lunch is way calmer than dinner if u want to avoid the whole booking thing. jiefang road side, near the old market

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah lunch is the move, the dongpo pork is worth it but the rest of the menu is pretty standard. i'd say go for lunch and treat it as a nice extra, not a detour-worthy stop

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Good call on lunch, I went around 1pm on a Sunday and got a table straight away. The dongpo pork really is the standout, though I'd say it's a nice add-on rather than a detour.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Fair point about it being an add-on, and the weekday lunch crowd is thin enough that you can walk in around noon without thinking twice.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Dongpo pork is the reason to go, agreed. The Jiefang Road entrance is easy to miss though, it's the narrow door just past the pharmacy, not the big frontage on the corner. Weekday lunch you can basically walk in.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

never actually eaten there myself but i walked past on a saturday and the queue was out the door so yes book ahead

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Weekend queues there usually peak around 7pm, so booking for 6pm or after 8:30 gets you seated without much wait.

arrow_drop_up 22 arrow_drop_down

8:30 still means waiting on a saturday ngl

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

booked 8:45 last sat and still waited 20 min
