Honestly the only "secret" is which lab has the good fume hood. Check out the student clubs fair instead, way less mysterious.
the "secret society" thing at buct is mostly just the older lab groups in the chemistry buildings off beisanhuan donglu, they have their own rituals & inside jokes but nothing occult. if u want the real campus flavor join a hushu club or the dragon boat team, way more fun than chasing rumors. the midnight lab stuff is real but it's just people babysitting reactions that run overnight

its not really a scam, more like how the place runs. door price is just cover, then they hit u with the service fee on the tab which is usually 10 to 15 percent and it shows up on the receipt if u actually look. pay cash at the door and settle each round as u go, that way nothing sneaks up on u.
Yeah the fee is real and it's on the menu, but watch the door guys quoting a higher cover than the posted price, that's the actual trick there.
Agree on the fee, but ask for a printed receipt before you pay, since they sometimes drop the service charge if you push back.
