Where to stay in Anqiu for a first-timer?
honestly if you want to be close to food and sights, stay around the city center near the intersection of Jiankang Road and Wenquan Road. that area has a bunch of local spots like the lamb soup places on Wenquan Road, plus it's a short walk to the Anqiu Confucian Temple and the old city wall remnants. you'll also be near the morning market on East Street where they sell fresh baozi and jianbing for like 3 yuan each. the bus station is close too if you need to head out to the Qilu Great Wall ruins which is the main attraction outside town
fwiw the area around the bus station on Wenquan Road is actually pretty convenient too, not just the center. there's a decent hotel called the Anqiu International Hotel right there, rooms are clean and cheap like 150 a night. you can grab a bus straight to the Qilu Great Wall or even to Weifang if you want a day trip. the food scene is solid too, there's a night market on Jiankang Road near the station that does grilled skewers and stinky tofu til midnight, way less touristy than the center spots
imo you should check out the east side near the river, around the Anqiu People's Park area. it's quieter than the center but still has solid food, like the hand-pulled noodle place on Heping Road that's been there for 20 years. the park itself is nice for a morning stroll and you're like a 15 minute walk to the Confucian Temple, plus the bus to the Great Wall picks up on that side too. just avoid the hotels right on the main drag if you want to sleep past 7am, the traffic noise is real
