Bar Parnapiacaba: worth the trip from Sao Paulo?

fmd_goodBar Parnapiacaba · #trip #parnapiacaba
Coming to Sao Paulo in March 2026 and a friend keeps telling me to check out Bar Parnapiacaba. Is it actually worth the trek out there or should I stay closer to the center? Any tips on getting there… Coming to Sao Paulo in March 2026 and a friend keeps telling me to check out Bar Parnapiacaba. honestly the cachaça selection there beats most spots in vila madalena, but check the bus schedule from terminal ferrazópolis first or you'll be stranded after dark

ferrazópolis bus is teh slow one, take the expresso

I think it's in Parnapiacaba, out past the Serra do Mar, so it's a proper day trip rather than a quick hop. The train from Luz is the easy way if you go. Honestly I'd only make the trek if you want the old village vibe too.

Vila de Paranapiacaba, and the fog rolls in by 4pm.

Spot on about the fog, and the old funicular railway up to the village is the bit most day trippers miss.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

yeah the train ride itself is half the fun tbh. bring a jacket, it gets foggy and cold up there even in march

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the train only runs a few times a day so check the CPTM timetable before you commit, otherwise you're stuck waiting hours

Agreed on it being a full day out, and the road up through the fog is half the reason to go.

Sao Paulo dating 2026: where do people actually meet?

I'm moving to Sao Paulo in a few months and trying to get a read on dating there. Do people mostly meet through apps, or is it more about bars and cafes like Vintage Coffee & Emporium in Pinheiros? Do people mostly meet through apps, or is it more about bars and cafes like Vintage Coffee & Emporium in Pinheiros? Curious what surprised foreigners most about the norms.
