this is a great write-up, really captures the city well. one tiny thing i'd add is that the shahi jama-e-masjid is beautiful but the caretaker might ask for a small donation if you want to go inside and take photos, like 20-50 taka, just keep some coins handy. also if u're at foy's lake on a weekend the cable car line can be 30+ mins, better to go on a weekday morning if possible.
for day 3, the shitakunda eco park is nice but honestly the trail to the buddhist temple is kinda steep and uneven, wear proper shoes not sandals. i slipped once in the rain. the chandranath temple alternative is a good call, its quieter and the view from the hilltop is just as good without the crowds.
oh and for the peninsula dinner, their grilled fish is solid but the buffet is a rip-off at 1500, just order a la carte and you'll spend maybe 800-1000 and get better food. overall this itinerary hits the right notes, you'll have a good time exploring chattogram.

One thing I'd add is that the Ethnological Museum is closed on Thursdays, so if you're planning your 3 days around a Thursday you'll need to swap that with something else. Also, if you're at Patenga Beach, walk a bit further east past the naval base gate where the crowd thins out completely, there's a stretch of concrete benches right on the water that locals use for evening chai. For the GEC shopping area, skip the main complex and walk one block behind it to the smaller lane shops near the New Market, you'll find better quality Jamdani saris for half the price if you bargain.
honestly this is a solid plan, youve covered most of the big stuff. one thing i'd tweak is day 2 morning at patenga, if you go on a friday it gets packed real fast with families after jummah prayers so aim for a weekday if u can. also the naval beach tip is good but honestly the water there can be pretty dirty, i'd skip swimming and just enjoy the view with some chai from the stalls near the gate.
for day 3 at the railway museum, its a hidden gem but dont expect a huge collection, its mostly one big hall with a few old trains and some photos. still worth 30 mins if you like trains. also for dinner at the peninsula, thats prob the fanciest spot in town but the buffet is way overpriced imo, the a la carte grilled fish is better value at around 800 taka.
one thing the guide didnt mention is the traffic around gec circle in the evening, its a nightmare after 6 pm so plan your shopping trip to wrap up by then or youll be stuck in a cng for 20 mins going nowhere. overall though this covers the essentials, youll have a good time

honestly the ethnological museum is worth it but don't expect anything flashy, it's more of a quiet afternoon stop and the AC works well which is a bonus. for the hike at batali hill, go on a weekday around 4pm, it's way less crowded and the light hits the bay just right, you can see the ships moving in from there.
one thing the guide skipped is the karnaphuli tunnel, it opened recently and walking through it is weird but cool, just don't linger inside cause the traffic is constant. also if you're at patenga beach, skip the main strip and walk south toward the naval base, there's a stretch with fewer people and better shells.
for shopping, new market is fine but the real deal is the small lane behind the GEC circle, they sell old coins and brass stuff from the hill tracts, just ask around for the antique shops there. u can find a decent brass bowl for 200 taka if u bargain hard.
the mezban beef tip is solid, but i'd add that Moni Bhandar on Katalganj Road actually does a better version imo, spicier and more tender. for the karnaphuli cruise, skip the big tourist boats and find the small wooden ones near the shipbreaking yards, they're cheaper and you get closer to the action, just negotiate like 150 taka. also the court building is nice but walk a bit further to the circuit house grounds, there's a small lake there that nobody mentions and it's dead quiet compared to the main road
fwiw the guide's right about Foy's Lake being commercial but the hilltop restaurant there actually has solid biryani, better than most places in the city center. also if you're into photography, the old railway station near the port area is abandoned and has this cool faded colonial vibe, just watch ur step cause the floor's kinda broken. one more thing, the sitakunda eco park is nice but the real hidden spot is the waterfall trail about 2 km past the park entrance, locals call it Jharna Pahar, no entry fee and almost no tourists there
