**🍢 Street Food Staples** Start your food tour at Liaquat Bazaar, where vendors serve sizzling seekh kebabs and chapli kebabs for around PKR 150 to 300 per plate. Don't miss the famous 'Sajji' from the stalls near Shahrah-e-Iqbal, a whole roasted chicken or mutton that costs PKR 800 to 1,500. For a quick bite, grab a plate of 'Landhi' (dried mutton) from the old city area, a winter specialty that pairs perfectly with naan. **🍽️ Top Local Restaurants** For a sit-down meal, head to 'Usmania Restaurant' on Jinnah Road, known for its hearty beef karahi and freshly baked naan, with mains averaging PKR 500 to 1,000. Another favorite is 'Green Hotel' near the railway station, where you can enjoy traditional Balochi dishes like 'Dampukht' (steamed meat) for about PKR 600 per person. For a more upscale experience, try 'Serena Hotel's' BBQ buffet on Friday nights, priced at PKR 2,500 per head, offering a wide range of grilled meats and local sides. **🥘 Signature Balochi Dishes** Quetta is the birthplace of 'Sajji', a whole lamb or chicken marinated in local spices and roasted over an open fire, best enjoyed at 'Bolan Sajji House' on Airport Road, where a full chicken costs PKR 1,200. Another must-try is 'Khaddi Kebab', a whole lamb cooked in an underground pit, available at 'Khan's Khaddi Kebab' near the bus stand, priced at PKR 3,000 for a group of four. Pair these with 'Kaak', a traditional bread baked on hot stones, which you can find at most local bakeries for PKR 50 each. **🍵 Tea and Refreshments** Quetta's 'Kawa' (green tea) is legendary, and the best cup is at 'Kawa Cafe' on Zarghun Road, where a pot costs just PKR 100. For a sweet treat, try 'Sheer Chai' (pink tea) at 'Chai Khana' in the city center, served with a side of 'Biscuits' for PKR 150. If you're in the mood for a cold drink, visit 'Fruit Chat House' near the cantonment, which offers fresh pomegranate juice for PKR 200, a refreshing break from the dry climate. **🍮 Desserts and Sweets** End your meal with 'Sohan Halwa', a dense sweet made from semolina and ghee, available at 'Quetta Sweet House' on M.A. Jinnah Road for PKR 400 per kilogram. Another local favorite is 'Shakarpara', a crispy sugar-coated snack, sold at 'Bismillah Sweets' near the main bazaar for PKR 300 per box. For a modern twist, try the 'Rabri' (condensed milk dessert) at 'Ice Cream Parlour' on Sariab Road, priced at PKR 250 per serving. **🕌 Neighborhood Food Hubs** The 'Kandahari Bazaar' area is a food lover's paradise, with narrow lanes packed with stalls selling 'Kabuli Pulao' and 'Mantu' (dumplings) for PKR 200 to 400. In the 'Satellite Town' neighborhood, you'll find a cluster of BBQ joints like 'Al-Madina BBQ', where a mixed grill platter costs PKR 1,000. For a more local experience, visit 'Hazara Town' on weekends, where the 'Hazara' community serves unique dishes like 'Bolani' (stuffed flatbread) at street stalls for PKR 100 each. **💰 Budget and Timing Tips** Most street food stalls operate from 5 PM to midnight, while restaurants like 'Usmania' open for lunch at 12 PM and close at 11 PM. To save money, eat at the bazaar stalls rather than tourist-oriented hotels, as prices can be half as much. Carry cash, as many vendors do not accept cards, and be prepared to bargain at the bazaars, though prices are usually fixed at restaurants.
