**🏛️ Explore Ancient Mohenjo-Daro** A UNESCO World Heritage site, Mohenjo-Daro is about 30 km south of Larkana and offers a fascinating glimpse into the Indus Valley Civilization. The site is open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with an entry fee of PKR 500 for foreigners and PKR 20 for locals. A guided tour costs around PKR 1000 and brings the ruins to life with stories of the Great Bath and the granary. Bring water and a hat, as shade is limited. **🕌 Visit Shrine of Shah Baharo** Located in the heart of Larkana, the shrine of Shah Baharo is a beautiful example of Sindhi architecture and a peaceful spot for reflection. It is open from sunrise to sunset, and entry is free, though donations are welcome. Fridays are busiest, so visit on a weekday morning for a quieter experience. Women should cover their heads and dress modestly. **🏞️ Relax at Dr. A.Q. Khan Park** This well-maintained park on Station Road is a favorite among families and offers a green escape from the city's heat. It opens at 9 AM and closes at 10 PM, with a nominal entry fee of PKR 20. You'll find jogging tracks, a small lake, and plenty of benches for picnics. Evening is the best time to visit when the fountains are lit. **🛍️ Shop at Jinnah Bagh Market** For local handicrafts, Ajrak block prints, and Sindhi caps, head to the bustling Jinnah Bagh Market. Most shops open around 10 AM and close by 9 PM, with prices ranging from PKR 200 for a cap to PKR 2000 for a hand-printed Ajrak. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the quoted price. The market is also great for sampling street food like pakoras and samosas. **🍛 Taste Sindhi Cuisine** Larkana is the birthplace of Sindhi biryani, and you can try the authentic version at local favorites like Al-Madina Restaurant on Lahori Road. A plate costs around PKR 300 and is best enjoyed with raita and salad. For dessert, don't miss the falooda at Dilpasand Sweets near Clock Tower, open until midnight. Vegetarians can opt for sai bhaji and phulka at Sindh Restaurant. **🚌 Getting Around Larkana** The city is compact, and most attractions are within a 5 km radius, so auto-rickshaws are the easiest way to get around. A short ride costs PKR 50 to 100, but agree on the fare before boarding. For Mohenjo-Daro, you can hire a taxi for the day for about PKR 2000, or take a local bus from the main bus stand for PKR 50. Ride-hailing apps like Careem are not widely available, so keep cash handy. **🏨 Where to Stay** Larkana has a limited but comfortable range of accommodations. The best option is the government-run Larkana Rest House on Station Road, with rooms from PKR 3000 per night, including breakfast. Mid-range hotels like Al-Farooq Hotel offer air-conditioned rooms for around PKR 5000. Book ahead during the Mohenjo-Daro festival in January, when rooms fill up quickly. **📅 Best Time to Visit** The ideal time to explore Larkana is from November to February, when temperatures range from 10°C to 25°C. Avoid the scorching summer months of May to August, when temperatures can exceed 45°C. The annual Mohenjo-Daro Festival in January features cultural performances and crafts, making it a lively time to visit. Ramadan is also a special time, with evening bazaars offering delicious iftar treats.
