**🌳 Start at the Parks** Begin your visit at the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, a green oasis on Aba Road with paddle boats, mini-golf, and food stalls. It's open daily from 9am to 9pm, and entry costs 500 naira. For a quieter stroll, head to the nearby Isaac Boro Park, which has a memorial and shaded walkways. **🏛️ Museums and Culture** The Rivers State Museum on Forces Avenue showcases local artifacts, including traditional masks and colonial-era pieces. It's open weekdays from 9am to 5pm, with a small entry fee of 200 naira. For contemporary art, visit the Bature Art Gallery in Old GRA, which features works by Niger Delta artists. **🛍️ Markets and Shopping** Don't miss the bustling Mile 1 Market, where you can buy colorful fabrics, spices, and handmade crafts. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the asking price. For a more relaxed experience, visit the Genesis Centre on Aba Road, a modern mall with shops, a cinema, and a food court. **🍽️ Local Food Scene** Try native dishes like banga soup and seafood okra at the popular restaurant, The Garden, located on Tombia Street. A meal costs around 2,000 to 3,500 naira. For street food, head to the night market at Rumuola, where you can sample roasted plantains and grilled fish. **🌅 River and Beach Trips** Take a short boat ride from the Port Harcourt waterfront to the nearby Bonny Island, where you can visit the beach and see the LNG plant. Boat trips cost about 1,500 naira per person and leave throughout the day. Alternatively, visit the sandy shores of Onne Beach, about 30 minutes from the city center. **🎶 Nightlife and Music** Port Harcourt's nightlife is legendary, with live bands playing at venues like the Hotel Presidential on Aba Road. Cover charges range from 1,000 to 3,000 naira, and the music often goes until dawn. For a more laid-back vibe, try the Jazz Bar at the Golden Tulip Hotel, which has a relaxed atmosphere and good cocktails. **🚕 Getting Around** Taxis and keke (tricycles) are the main ways to get around, with short trips costing 300 to 500 naira. Agree on the fare before you start, as meters are rare. For a safer option, use ride-hailing apps like Uber or Bolt, which are widely available in the city. **💡 Insider Tips** Plan your visit between November and February, when the weather is drier and cooler. Always carry cash, as many small vendors don't accept cards. Be respectful of local customs, and ask before taking photos of people or markets.
