**📱 SIM Cards and Connectivity** Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), you can grab a prepaid SIM card from booths by Celcom, Maxis, or Digi. A 7-day plan with 10GB of data costs around 30 MYR (about $7 USD). For convenience, consider eSIMs from providers like Airalo if you prefer to activate before landing. **💰 Currency and Payments** The local currency is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). ATMs are widely available, and credit cards are accepted at most hotels, malls, and restaurants. However, keep small cash for street food, taxis, and local markets. Exchange money at authorized money changers in shopping malls for better rates than at the airport. **🚇 Getting Around the City** Kuala Lumpur has an efficient public transport system including the LRT, MRT, monorail, and KTM trains. A single journey costs between 1 and 6 MYR. Buy a Touch 'n Go card (10 MYR) at any station for seamless travel on all modes. Ride-hailing apps like Grab are also affordable and convenient for door-to-door trips. **🙏 Cultural Etiquette Tips** Malaysia is a multicultural society with Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences. Dress modestly when visiting mosques and temples, covering shoulders and knees. Remove shoes before entering homes and places of worship. Always use your right hand for giving and receiving items, as the left is considered unclean. **🏛️ Must-See in 3 to 5 Days** Start with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers (admission 80 MYR for adults) and KL Tower for skyline views. Explore the Batu Caves (free entry) just north of the city, then dive into history at Merdeka Square and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Don't miss the vibrant street art and cafes in the Bukit Bintang area. **🍜 Where to Eat Like a Local** Head to Jalan Alor for a bustling street food scene with satay, grilled seafood, and noodle dishes. For authentic Chinese food, visit Petaling Street (Chinatown). Try nasi lemak at Village Park Restaurant (5 Jalan SS21/37) or roti canai at any mamak stall. Meals typically cost 5 to 15 MYR per dish. **🛍️ Shopping and Souvenirs** KL is a shopper's paradise with mega malls like Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC. For local crafts and batik, head to Central Market (Pasar Seni). Bargaining is expected at night markets like Petaling Street. Popular souvenirs include Malaysian batik, pewter from Royal Selangor, and local snacks like durian chips. **🌧️ Weather and Packing Tips** Kuala Lumpur has a tropical climate with year-round humidity and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, a rain jacket or umbrella, and comfortable walking shoes. Sunscreen and insect repellent are essential. Air conditioning is strong indoors, so a light sweater can be useful.
