**🗺️ Day 1: City Center** Start at the Siti Khadijah Market (Jalan Buluh Kubu) at 8:00 AM for breakfast. Try nasi kerabu or laksam for under RM5. Then walk 5 minutes to the Islamic Museum (Jalan Sultan, open 9:00 AM-4:45 PM, closed Mondays, free entry). After lunch, visit the Istana Jahar (Jalan Sultan, open 8:30 AM-4:45 PM, RM3) and the Bank Kerapu (World War II Memorial Museum, Jalan Sultan, RM2). End the day at the Cultural Centre (Jalan Sultan) for a 3:00 PM shadow puppet show (free). **🕌 Day 2: Islamic Heritage** Begin at the Kampung Laut Mosque (Jalan Kuala Krai, 15 minutes by car from center, open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, free). Then head to the Muhammadi Mosque (Jalan Merbau, open 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, free) and the nearby Kelantan State Museum (Jalan Hospital, RM2). Have lunch at Nasi Ulam Cikgu (Jalan Sultanah Zainab, 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, around RM8). In the afternoon, explore the Handicraft Village (Jalan Sultan, open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM) and watch batik painting. Dinner at Taman Sari (Jalan Sultan, 6:00 PM-11:00 PM, RM10-15). **🚌 Day 3: Outskirts** Take a 30-minute taxi (RM30) or bus 19 (RM2) to Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) beach. Arrive by 9:00 AM, relax, and try local snacks at the stalls (open until 6:00 PM). Then visit the nearby Wat Photivihan (Jalan PCB, open 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, free) with its 40-meter reclining Buddha. Return to the city by 3:00 PM and explore the Pengkalan Kubor duty-free zone (30 minutes by car, open 10:00 AM-7:00 PM). End with dinner at the Night Market (Jalan Parit Dalam, 6:00 PM-10:00 PM, RM5-10 per dish). **🚕 Getting Around** Kota Bharu is compact, so walking is best in the city center. For longer trips, use Grab (RM5-15 within town) or local taxis (negotiate fare before boarding). Buses 19 and 20 serve PCB and Pengkalan Kubor, but they run infrequently (every 30-60 minutes). Renting a car (RM120-150 per day) gives more flexibility for Day 3. **🍜 Where to Eat** For breakfast, head to Kedai Kopi White House (Jalan Sultan, 7:00 AM-12:00 PM) for roti canai and teh tarik (RM3). Lunch at Nasi Kerabu Yati (Jalan Kebun Sultan, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM) for a plate of nasi kerabu (RM6). Dinner at Restoran Nasi Ulam Kampung Kraftangan (Jalan Sultan, 5:00 PM-10:00 PM) for traditional Kelantanese dishes (RM10-15). For dessert, try the local specialty, akok, at Pasar Siti Khadijah (RM2 per piece). **🏨 Where to Stay** Budget travelers can stay at Tune Hotel Kota Bharu (Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, from RM80 per night) or the more basic Hotel Murni (Jalan Dato Lundang, from RM50). Mid-range options include the Grand Riverview Hotel (Jalan Post Office Lama, from RM150) and the Perdana Hotel (Jalan Sultan, from RM120). For a boutique experience, try the Rumah Kita Guesthouse (Jalan Kampung Cina, from RM100). Book ahead during peak seasons (June-August and December). **💰 Budget Tips** A daily budget of RM100-150 covers meals, transport, and entry fees. Many museums are free or under RM5, so carry small change. Eat at local markets and food courts for meals under RM10. Avoid taxis and use Grab or walk to save money. Tap water is not drinkable, so buy bottled water (RM1-2 per bottle). **📅 Best Time to Visit** The dry season from March to September offers the best weather for exploring. Avoid the monsoon months of November to January, when heavy rains can disrupt travel. Ramadan is a special time to visit for the night markets, but many restaurants close during the day. Check local holidays like Hari Raya Aidilfitri, when the city is festive but crowded.
