**🍜 Start with Agujjim** Masan is famous for agujjim, a spicy steamed monkfish dish. Head to Odong-dong's Agujjim Street, where restaurants like Chungmu Agujjim (6 Odongseo-ro, Masanhappo-gu) serve generous portions for around 25,000 to 35,000 won. Most places open at 11 a.m. and close around 9 p.m., but arrive early on weekends to avoid the queue. **🦀 Seafood at the Market** For fresh seafood, visit Masan Fish Market (18 Bukseong-ro, Masanhappo-gu). You can pick your fish and have it prepared as sashimi (hoe) for about 15,000 to 30,000 won per person. The market stalls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the adjacent restaurants will cook your catch for a small fee. **🍲 Hearty Gukbap** Masan is known for its rich gukbap (soup with rice). Try the pork gukbap at Halmae Gukbap (12 Changdong-ro, Masanhoewon-gu), a local institution since 1960, where a bowl costs 8,000 won. It's open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and the spicy broth is perfect for breakfast. **🥟 Street Snacks** For a quick bite, explore the food stalls around Masan Station. Look for hotteok (sweet pancakes) at 1,500 won each and eomuk (fish cake) skewers for 1,000 won. The stalls operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and they're busiest in the evening. **🍖 Korean BBQ** Masan has a thriving BBQ scene. Visit Hanam Dwaeji (45 Yangdeok-ro, Masanhoewon-gu) for succulent pork belly at around 15,000 won per serving. They're open from 5 p.m. to midnight, and the side dishes are refillable. **🍜 Cold Noodles** On hot days, cool down with naengmyeon at Pyongyang Naengmyeon (7 Bukseong-ro, Masanhappo-gu). A bowl of cold buckwheat noodles costs 10,000 won, and the tangy broth is refreshing. They open at 11 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., but close early on Mondays. **🍰 Sweet Treats** For dessert, try the local specialty called 'Masan bread' at Bakery Sungsimdang (23 Changwon-ro, Masanhoewon-gu). This sweet red bean bread costs 3,000 won and pairs well with coffee. The bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. **💡 Practical Tips** Most restaurants in Masan accept cash and credit cards, but street stalls prefer cash. Tipping is not customary in Korea. For a food tour, consider starting at Masan Station and walking to nearby markets and streets.
