**🏰 Castle and Old Town** Start at Bratislava Castle, which opens daily from 9:00 to 18:00 (last entry at 17:00); adult admission is 10 euros, and the terraces offer free panoramic views of the Danube and Austria on clear days. Then wander through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, stopping at the quirky Cumil statue (a worker peeking out of a manhole) at the junction of Laurinska and Panska streets. For a quieter experience, visit the Franciscan Church on Frantiskanske namestie, one of the city's oldest buildings, with free entry during daylight hours. **🍺 Underground Beer Scene** Bratislava's craft beer scene has exploded in recent years, and a good place to start is the Bratislava Beer Museum on Radnicna 3, which offers tastings of Slovak microbrews for around 8 euros. For a more local vibe, head to the underground pub Kelt on Hviezdoslavovo namestie, where you can try traditional Slovak beers like Zlaty Bazant on tap for about 2.50 euros a half-liter. Many pubs also serve hearty pub grub such as bryndzove halusky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese) for under 10 euros. **🚶 Danube Riverside Walk** Take a leisurely stroll along the Danube promenade, starting from the SNP Bridge (UFO Bridge) and heading east toward the Eurovea shopping center. The walk offers great views of the castle and the river, and you can stop at the Tyršovo nábrežie beach area in summer, where locals swim and sunbathe for free. For a unique experience, cross the SNP Bridge to the UFO observation deck and restaurant, which is open daily from 10:00 to 23:00; the observation deck costs 7.50 euros and provides a 360-degree view of the city. **🎨 Street Art and Galleries** Bratislava has a growing street art scene, particularly in the revitalized industrial district of Mlynské Nivy, where you can find large murals by local and international artists. For a more formal art experience, visit the Slovak National Gallery on Rázusovo nábrežie 2, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00; admission is 12 euros for adults. The gallery houses an impressive collection of Slovak art from the 19th century to the present, and the attached cafe is a great spot for a coffee break. **🌳 Parks and Relaxation** Escape the city bustle at Sad Janka Kráľa, a large park on the right bank of the Danube, perfect for a picnic or a leisurely bike ride; it's easily accessible via the SNP Bridge. Another green oasis is Horský park, located just north of the Old Town, with walking trails and a playground for kids. In summer, the Bratislava Forest Park (Lesopark) offers hiking and cycling trails, and you can reach it by tram line 203 from the city center to the Koliba stop. **🍽️ Local Food Markets** For a taste of authentic Slovak produce, head to the Miletičova Market, open on Saturdays from 6:00 to 14:00, where farmers sell fresh vegetables, cheeses, and meats. The market is also a great place to try local street food like lokše (potato pancakes) or cigánska pečienka (grilled meat sandwich) for around 3 to 5 euros. Another option is the Stará Tržnica (Old Market Hall) on Námestie SNP, which hosts a food market on Saturdays and various events throughout the week. **🚌 Getting Around** Bratislava's public transport system is efficient and affordable; a 30-minute ticket costs 1.10 euros, and a 24-hour pass is 4.90 euros, available from ticket machines or via the IDS BK mobile app. Trams and buses connect the main sights, and the city center is easily walkable. For a scenic ride, take tram line 1 from the main station to the Danube embankment, or use the trolleybus to reach the castle area. **🎉 Evening Entertainment** As the sun sets, Bratislava's nightlife comes alive, especially in the Old Town where bars like the legendary Slovak Pub on Obchodná 62 offer a cozy atmosphere and live music on weekends. For a more upscale evening, catch a performance at the Slovak National Theatre on Hviezdoslavovo námestie; tickets for opera or ballet start at around 15 euros. In summer, check out the summer stage at Tyršovo nábrežie for open-air concerts and film screenings.
