**🗺️ Day 1: Puerto Ordaz** Start your first day in Puerto Ordaz, the modern side of the city. Begin at the Cachamay Park (Parque Cachamay) around 9:00 AM to see the impressive waterfalls and trails. Then head to the Orinokia Mall for lunch and shopping, as it is a 15-minute drive from the park. In the afternoon, visit the Caroní River viewpoint at the Macagua Dam for a scenic overlook. **🌉 Day 2: San Félix** Dedicate your second day to San Félix, the historic district across the river. Cross the Angostura Bridge (Puente Angostura) early to avoid traffic, which takes about 20 minutes. Explore the Mercado Municipal for local crafts and fresh produce, then have lunch at a traditional arepa stand nearby. In the afternoon, visit the Catedral de San Félix and the Paseo Caroní for a relaxing stroll. **🌳 Day 3: Nature Escapes** On your final day, escape to the natural wonders surrounding the city. Take a 30-minute drive to the La Llovizna Park (Parque La Llovizna) and enjoy the powerful waterfalls and lush trails. For a more adventurous afternoon, head to the Guri Dam, about an hour away, to see one of the world's largest hydroelectric plants. Return to the city by sunset and have dinner at a riverside restaurant in Puerto Ordaz. **🚌 Getting Around** Public buses connect Puerto Ordaz and San Félix, but they can be crowded and slow. For efficiency, use taxis or ride-hailing apps like Uber, which are widely available and affordable. A typical ride within the city costs around $2 to $5. Renting a car is also an option if you plan to visit the Guri Dam, as public transport there is limited. **🍽️ Where to Eat** For authentic local food, try the arepas and cachapas at Arepera El Sabroso in Puerto Ordaz, open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. For a fine dining experience, book a table at Restaurante La Cascada, which offers river views and international cuisine. In San Félix, don't miss the fresh fish dishes at El Pescador, a casual spot near the market. **🏨 Where to Stay** Stay in Puerto Ordaz for easy access to malls and restaurants. The Eurobuilding Hotel & Suites is a popular choice, with rooms starting at $80 per night. For a budget option, consider the Posada Don Luis, which offers clean rooms for around $30. If you prefer to be closer to nature, there are eco-lodges near the parks, but they are farther from the city center. **💡 Practical Tips** Carry cash in bolivars, as many small vendors do not accept cards. The official exchange rate changes frequently, so check the current rate before your trip. English is not widely spoken, so learn a few basic Spanish phrases. Always keep your belongings secure and avoid walking alone at night in less busy areas.
