**🍽️ Iconic Dishes** Start with the classics: gumbo, jambalaya, and po'boys. For a legendary gumbo, visit Gumbo Shop at 630 St Peter Street, where a bowl costs around $12. For a fried oyster po'boy, head to Johnny's Po-Boys at 511 St Louis Street, with sandwiches from $10 to $15. **🥐 Breakfast and Beignets** No trip is complete without beignets at Café du Monde in the French Market, open 24 hours, with three beignets for about $3.50. For a heartier breakfast, try the shrimp and grits at Elizabeth's in the Bywater, at 601 Gallier Street, where plates run $14 to $18. **🌮 Street Food Stalls** The French Market hosts several food stalls, including the famous Verti Marte at 1201 Royal Street, known for its all-day po'boys and muffulettas. For a quick bite, grab a crawfish pie from the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen's stall, priced around $8. **🍤 Seafood Spots** For fresh Gulf shrimp and oysters, visit Acme Oyster House at 724 Iberville Street, where a dozen raw oysters cost about $15. Another favorite is Deanie's Seafood in the French Quarter at 841 Iberville Street, offering a seafood platter for $25 that feeds two. **🍮 Dessert Delights** End your meal with a slice of king cake from Manny Randazzo's in Metairie, but order ahead as they sell out fast. For a modern twist, try the banana foster bread pudding at Brennan's, 417 Royal Street, priced at $12. **🍺 Local Brews and Bars** Pair your food with local craft beer from the Courtyard Brewery at 1020 Erato Street, where flights cost $12. For a classic cocktail, visit the Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone, 214 Royal Street, and try a Vieux Carré for $16. **💵 Budget Bites** Eat well without breaking the bank at Mother's Restaurant, 401 Poydras Street, where a classic po'boy is under $10. For a cheap and filling meal, grab a plate of red beans and rice at Coop's Place, 1109 Decatur Street, for about $9. **📍 Neighborhood Gems** Venture beyond the Quarter to the Garden District and try the fried chicken at Commander's Palace, 1403 Washington Avenue, but expect a $40 entrée. In the Marigny, visit the Bywater Bakery at 3624 Dauphine Street for creative pastries and a $5 coffee.
