**🏖️ Beach Days at Bonita Beach** Bonita Beach Park at 27954 Hickory Blvd is the main public access, with parking at $2 per hour and a boardwalk over the dunes. The sand here is powdery white and the Gulf is usually calm, but watch for the occasional strong current near the pass. For a quieter spot, head to Little Hickory Island Park, just north of the main beach, where locals go for shelling at low tide. **🛶 Paddle the Imperial River** The Imperial River is a calm, mangrove-lined waterway that's perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. Rentals are available at Bonita Springs Paddle Co. (located at 28010 Race Track Rd) for about $35 for two hours. Go early in the morning to catch the wildlife and avoid the afternoon heat. If you bring your own board, launch from the free ramp at Riverside Park (10450 Reynolds St). **🐢 Spot Sea Turtles at Lovers Key** Lovers Key State Park (8700 Estero Blvd) is a short drive north and offers a tram ride to a secluded beach where sea turtles nest from May to October. The park entrance fee is $8 per vehicle, and kayak rentals start at $30 for two hours. The Black Island Trail is a easy 2.5-mile loop that's great for birding. Arrive before 10 a.m. on weekends to avoid the parking crunch. **🎣 Fish the Backwaters** Bonita Springs is a haven for anglers, with snook, redfish, and tarpon in the backwaters. Book a guided trip with a local captain like Captain Rob at Bonita Fishing Charters (prices from $450 for a half day). If you prefer to DIY, the pier at Bonita Beach Park is a popular spot, and you can buy bait at the nearby Bonita Bait & Tackle (27975 Old 41 Rd). **🛍️ Browse the Promenade** The Promenade at Bonita Bay (26811 S Bay Dr) is an upscale open-air shopping center with boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. It's a good place to escape the midday sun, and you can grab a coffee at the on-site cafe. On Thursday evenings from January to April, there's a farmers market with local produce and crafts. Parking is free and plentiful. **🍽️ Eat Like a Local** For fresh seafood, try the Fish House Restaurant (4685 Bonita Beach Rd), where the grouper sandwich is a standout at around $16. For a casual breakfast, Skip One 41 (27975 Old 41 Rd) is a local institution serving hearty plates since 1985. Dinner at Roy's Restaurant (26831 S Bay Dr) offers Hawaiian fusion with a waterfront view, but reserve ahead for sunset seating. **🌿 Explore the Everglades** The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary (375 Sanctuary Rd W) is about 30 minutes east and features a 2.25-mile boardwalk through old-growth cypress. Admission is $17 for adults, and it's best visited in the morning when wildlife is active. Keep an eye out for alligators, otters, and the rare ghost orchid. Bring bug spray and water, as the humidity can be intense. **🎶 Catch Live Music** The Center Bar at the Promenade (26811 S Bay Dr) hosts live bands on weekends, often with a cover charge of $5 to $10. For a more laid-back vibe, the Bonita Springs Elks Lodge (3231 Coconut Rd) has weekly jam sessions open to the public. Check the local paper, the Bonita Banner, for listings of outdoor concerts at Riverside Park during the cooler months.
