**🍽️ Where to Start** Leeds' food scene is centered around the city center and the trendy Northern Quarter. Start your culinary tour at Kirkgate Market, one of the largest covered markets in Europe, where you'll find everything from fresh produce to international street food. The market is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5:30pm. **🥟 Street Food Favorites** For affordable eats, head to the Leeds Street Food Market on Granary Wharf, open Thursday to Sunday. Try the famous bao buns from 'Bao & Buns' or the loaded fries from 'Poutine Brothers'. Most dishes cost between £5 and £10. **🍜 Asian Cuisine Gems** Leeds has a vibrant Asian food scene. Visit 'Wuji Malatang' on Merrion Street for customizable spicy noodle soups starting at £8. For authentic ramen, 'Little Tokyo' on Central Road offers bowls from £12. Both are open for lunch and dinner daily. **🥩 Best Steakhouses** For a premium steak dinner, book a table at 'The Grill on the Square' on Millennium Square. Their dry-aged ribeye costs £38 and comes with seasonal sides. Alternatively, 'Cattle & Co' on Park Row offers a more casual vibe with steaks from £25. **🌿 Vegetarian & Vegan** Leeds is a haven for plant-based eaters. 'Roots & Fruits' on New Briggate serves a rotating menu of vegan bowls and salads for around £12. For a fine-dining experience, 'The Owl' on Kirkgate offers a tasting menu at £55 per person, with vegan options available. **🍰 Sweet Treats** Don't miss the artisan bakeries in Leeds. 'Laynes Espresso' on New Station Street serves excellent coffee and homemade cakes like carrot cake for £4.50. For gelato, 'Gelato Village' on Call Lane has unique flavors such as Yorkshire rhubarb, with a small cone costing £3.50. **🍺 Evening Food Spots** For a lively dinner scene, explore the restaurants on Call Lane. 'The Man Behind the Curtain' is a Michelin-starred spot with a tasting menu at £95. For something more casual, 'Bundobust' on Mill Hill serves Indian street food and craft beer, with dishes from £5. **💷 Budget Tips** Many restaurants offer lunch deals and early-bird menus. For example, 'The Ivy Asia' on Park Row has a set lunch for £25 per person. Also, check out the 'Leeds Food Week' in October for special discounts at participating venues.
