**🛬 Airport Overview** Gaziantep Oğuzeli International Airport (GZT) is located about 20 kilometers southeast of the city center. The airport is modern and well-equipped, with a single terminal handling both domestic and international flights. After collecting your luggage, you'll find clear signage directing you to taxis, buses, and car rental desks. **🚕 Taxi Fares and Tips** Taxis are the most convenient option, with a fixed rate of around 350 Turkish Lira to the city center (as of 2026). The journey takes 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Always insist on the meter or agree on the fare before starting, and avoid drivers who approach you inside the terminal; use the official taxi stand outside. **🚌 Public Bus Option** The Havas airport shuttle runs from the airport to the city center, with stops at key points like the Şehitkamil district and the central bus station. The fare is about 50 Turkish Lira, and the trip takes roughly 45 minutes. Buses depart every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 23:00, but schedules can vary, so check the Havas website or app for real-time updates. **🚗 Car Rental Advice** Several international and local rental companies operate at the airport, including Avis, Budget, and Enterprise. Renting a car is ideal if you plan to explore the surrounding region, such as Zeugma or Halfeti. Prices start around 800 Turkish Lira per day for a compact car, and you'll need a valid driver's license and a credit card for the deposit. **💰 Avoiding Overcharges** To avoid taxi scams, always use the official taxi queue and confirm the approximate fare before getting in. Some drivers may try to take a longer route or claim the meter is broken; insist on the meter or negotiate a fixed price in advance. For peace of mind, you can also book a transfer online through platforms like Kiwi or GetYourGuide, which offer fixed prices. **🌆 Arriving at Night** If your flight lands late, the Havas shuttle may not be running, so taxis are your best bet. The taxi fare is the same at night, but the journey can be faster with less traffic. Always use the official taxi stand, and if you feel uncomfortable, ask the airport information desk to call a licensed taxi for you. **📱 Useful Apps and Contacts** Download the BiTaksi app to book a licensed taxi from the airport, which shows the fare upfront and allows secure payment by card. For bus schedules, check the Havas website or call their hotline at +90 342 123 45 67. The airport's official website also provides updated transport information and contact details for all services.
