**🗺️ Day 1 Overview** Start your trip in the heart of Khartoum North, focusing on the riverside and central markets. Begin at 9 AM with a stroll along the Blue Nile promenade, then cross to the bustling Souq Arabi for a few hours of shopping. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum (open 9 AM to 5 PM, entrance 100 SDG) to get historical context. End the day with a sunset walk over the Blue Nile Bridge, which connects to Khartoum proper. **🏛️ Day 1 Afternoon** After lunch at a local kebab spot near Souq Arabi (expect to pay around 500 SDG for a meal), head to the Republican Palace Museum, just 15 minutes by taxi. The museum is open from 8:30 AM to 4 PM, and entry costs 50 SDG. You'll see artifacts from Sudan's colonial era and independence. If time allows, walk to the nearby Omdurman Souq, the largest market in the region, but be prepared for crowds. **🌆 Day 1 Evening** For dinner, try the popular Al-Shallal Restaurant on Nile Street, which serves grilled fish and traditional stews (mains from 800 SDG). Afterward, take a short taxi ride to the Tuti Island ferry point (5 minutes, 100 SDG) for a peaceful evening view of the Nile confluence. The ferry runs until 10 PM, and the island has a few tea stalls where you can relax. Return to your hotel by 9 PM to rest for the next day. **🕌 Day 2 Morning** Dedicate the second morning to Omdurman, just across the river. Start at 8 AM with a visit to the Mahdi's Tomb, a striking silver-domed shrine (open daily, free entry). Then walk to the Khalifa House Museum, 10 minutes away, which displays artifacts from the Mahdist period (admission 50 SDG). By 11 AM, head to the Omdurman Camel Market, where you can watch livestock trading; it's busiest in the morning. **🍲 Day 2 Lunch** For lunch, stop at a local eatery near the camel market, such as Al-Mashtal Restaurant, which serves hearty ful and falafel plates for under 300 SDG. Alternatively, try the famous Sudanese kisra bread with stew at a family-run spot in the neighborhood. After eating, take a taxi back to Khartoum North (20 minutes, 200 SDG) to explore the quieter residential streets and artisan workshops. **🎨 Day 2 Afternoon** Spend the afternoon in the Al-Mogran area, where the Blue and White Niles meet. Visit the Al-Mogran Family Park (open 10 AM to 8 PM, entry 50 SDG) for a relaxing stroll and a view of the confluence. Nearby, you'll find the Sudan National Gallery, which showcases contemporary Sudanese art (open 9 AM to 5 PM, free). This area is also great for photography, especially during golden hour. **🌙 Day 2 Evening** In the evening, take a river cruise on the Blue Nile, departing from the Al-Mogran pier at 6 PM (costs 1,500 SDG for a 2-hour ride with dinner). You'll see the illuminated bridges and city skyline from the water. If you prefer land, dine at the Corinthia Hotel's rooftop restaurant, which offers panoramic views but requires a reservation. End the night with a shisha at a local café near your hotel. **🚌 Day 3 Getting Around** On your final day, use the local minibus (basta) system to experience everyday life; fares are 50 to 100 SDG per ride. Start at 9 AM by taking a basta from central Khartoum North to the Bahri neighborhood, about 15 minutes. From there, walk to the Al-Azhari Park, a quiet green space with a small zoo (open 8 AM to 6 PM, entry 20 SDG). This is a good spot to relax before your departure. **🛍️ Day 3 Shopping** Spend the late morning at the Khartoum North Central Market, where you can buy spices, textiles, and handmade crafts. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the asking price. For souvenirs, look for traditional Sudanese daggers or leather goods; prices range from 200 to 1,000 SDG. After shopping, have a final lunch at the market's food court, where grilled meat sandwiches cost around 200 SDG. **🚕 Day 3 Departure** Plan to leave for the airport or bus station by 3 PM to avoid traffic. A taxi to Khartoum International Airport takes about 30 minutes and costs 1,000 SDG; agree on the fare before starting. If you have extra time, visit the nearby Blue Nile Sailing Club for a last look at the river. Always carry your passport, as checkpoints are common, and keep small change for tips.
