**🚗 Start at the KAMAZ Museum** Naberezhnyye Chelny is best known as the home of KAMAZ, one of the world's largest truck manufacturers, and the KAMAZ Museum at 2 Avtozavodsky Prospekt is the perfect place to start. The museum displays historic trucks, interactive exhibits, and the story of how the city was built around the plant in the 1970s. It's open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00, with tickets around 200 rubles for adults. To get there, take bus 1, 2, or 10 to the Avtozavodsky stop. **🌳 Relax in Victory Park** Victory Park, located along Naberezhnyye Chelny's central embankment, is a sprawling green space with walking paths, a large Ferris wheel, and monuments to World War II. In summer, locals flock here for rollerblading, picnics, and open-air cafes, while winter brings an ice rink and snow slides. The park is free to enter and stays open 24 hours, though the attractions typically run from 10:00 to 22:00. It's a 15-minute walk from the city center or a short ride on tram 2. **⛪ Explore Cathedral of the Holy Ascension** The Cathedral of the Holy Ascension on Musa Jalil Street is one of the city's most striking religious landmarks, with its golden domes and ornate interior. Built in the 1990s, it holds regular services and welcomes visitors outside of service times. Entry is free, but women should cover their heads with a scarf, and modest clothing is appreciated. It's easily reached by bus 5 or 8 from the main bus station. **🏛️ Discover Local History Museum** The Naberezhnyye Chelny Local History Museum at 30 Mira Prospekt offers a deep dive into the region's Tatar and Russian heritage, from ancient settlements to the industrial boom. Exhibits include traditional costumes, archaeological finds, and a section on the city's role during World War II. It's open Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with a small admission fee of about 150 rubles. Take trolleybus 7 or 9 to the Mira Prospekt stop. **🎭 Catch a Show at the Drama Theater** The Naberezhnyye Chelny State Tatar Drama Theater on Gafiatullina Street stages a mix of classic Tatar plays and contemporary Russian productions. Even if you don't speak Tatar, the visual storytelling and music make it worthwhile. Tickets range from 300 to 800 rubles and can be bought at the box office or online. Shows usually start at 18:30 on weekdays and 17:00 on weekends. **🛍️ Shop at City Mall** For a dose of modern retail, head to City Mall on Prospekt Mira, one of the largest shopping centers in the region. It houses over 150 stores, a food court with local and international chains, and a cinema. It's open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Buses 3, 6, and 11 stop right in front. **🍽️ Taste Tatar Cuisine** No visit to Naberezhnyye Chelny is complete without trying Tatar specialties like echpochmak (meat-filled pastry), chak-chak (honey dessert), and azu in a local eatery. Head to Tatarstan Cafe on Musa Jalil Street for authentic flavors at reasonable prices, around 500 rubles for a full meal. For a quick bite, try the chain Bakhetle, which has several locations across the city. Most cafes open at 10:00 and close by 22:00. **🚶 Stroll Along the Embankment** The Kama River embankment is a favorite spot for evening walks, with views of the river and the city skyline. In summer, you'll find street musicians, food stalls, and boat rentals, while winter offers a quieter, snowy scene. It's free to access and particularly beautiful at sunset. To get there, take any bus that stops at Rechnoy Port and walk five minutes toward the water.
