**🍽️ Where to Start** Begin your culinary journey at the Chiniot Food Street, located near the Clock Tower in the city center. Here you'll find a vibrant mix of stalls and small eateries open from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Start with a plate of sizzling chicken tikka from Malik Tikka Shop, priced around PKR 250, and pair it with fresh naan from the adjacent tandoor. **🍛 Traditional Punjabi Dishes** For authentic Punjabi flavors, head to Butt Karahi on Main Bazaar Road. Their signature mutton karahi, cooked in a large wok with tomatoes and green chilies, costs about PKR 1,200 per kilogram and serves three to four people. Another must-try is the dal makhani at Haji Restaurant near the Bus Stand, open daily from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, where a generous portion costs PKR 300. **🥘 Street Food Delights** Chiniot's street food scene shines in the evenings along Liaquat Road. Look for the samosa and pakora stalls that set up around 5:00 PM; a plate of six samosas costs PKR 100. Don't miss the chaat corner near the District Courts, where you can get a tangy plate of papri chaat for PKR 150, topped with yogurt and tamarind chutney. **🍢 Best BBQ Spots** For barbecue lovers, Shinwari BBQ on Sargodha Road is a local favorite, offering seekh kebabs, chicken boti, and mutton chops from 6:00 PM to midnight. A full platter of mixed BBQ with naan and salad costs around PKR 800. Another option is Bar B Q Tonight near the Railway Station, known for its flavorful malai boti at PKR 400 per plate. **🍮 Sweet Treats** No meal in Chiniot is complete without dessert. Visit Al-Madina Sweets on Circular Road for their famous gulab jamun and barfi; a kilogram of mixed mithai costs PKR 800. For a cold treat, try the kulfi falooda at Fresco Sweets near the General Bus Stand, priced at PKR 200, available from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. **🕒 Timing Your Visit** Most restaurants in Chiniot open around 11:00 AM and close by 11:00 PM, but street food stalls often operate later, until 1:00 AM on weekends. The best time to explore the food street is between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM when everything is fresh and lively. Avoid visiting during Friday prayers (12:30 PM to 2:30 PM) as many places close temporarily. **💰 Budget-Friendly Eats** Chiniot is very affordable for food lovers. A full meal at a local dhaba like Student Biryani on Jhang Road costs only PKR 250 for chicken biryani and a drink. For PKR 500, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast of halwa puri with chana masala at any roadside stall, typically served from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. **🚕 Getting Around** Most food spots are concentrated in the city center, so you can easily walk between them. If you're coming from the outskirts, take a rickshaw to Clock Tower Chowk for about PKR 100 from the bus station. Ride-hailing apps like Careem also operate in Chiniot, with fares starting at PKR 150 for short trips.
