**🗺️ Where to Start** Begin your trip in the central city, ideally staying near Queen Street or Viaduct Harbour. This puts you within walking distance of the Sky Tower, waterfront dining, and ferry terminals. For a central base, consider the Hotel Britomart or the SkyCity Grand Hotel. **☕ Day 1 Morning: City Centre** Start with breakfast at Best Ugly Bagels on Commerce Street, then walk to the Sky Tower at 72 Victoria Street West for panoramic views. Allow 1.5 hours for the tower, including the glass-floor elevator. Entry is NZD 39 for adults. **🏛️ Day 1 Afternoon: Museums** Head to the Auckland War Memorial Museum in the Domain, a 15-minute bus ride from the city centre. Spend 2-3 hours exploring Maori and Pacific Island exhibits. Admission is NZD 25 for adults, and the museum is open daily 10am-5pm. **🍽️ Day 1 Evening: Viaduct Harbour** Walk 20 minutes from the museum to Viaduct Harbour for dinner at Soul Bar & Bistro, known for its seafood and harbour views. Reserve a table for 7pm to catch the sunset. Mains range from NZD 35-50. **⛴️ Day 2: Waiheke Island** Take a 35-minute ferry from the Auckland Ferry Building to Waiheke Island. Ferries run hourly from 6am, with return tickets around NZD 45. Spend the day wine-tasting at Mudbrick Vineyard or Cable Bay Vineyard, both a short taxi from the ferry terminal. **🌿 Day 2 Afternoon: Beaches** After lunch, visit Onetangi Beach, a 10-minute drive from the vineyards. It's a long white-sand beach perfect for a stroll or swim. Buses run from the ferry terminal to the beach every 30 minutes, taking about 20 minutes. **🚌 Day 3 Morning: Ponsonby** Take a 10-minute bus from the city centre to Ponsonby Road, known for its boutique shops and cafes. Have brunch at The Tasting Shed, then browse local designers like Karen Walker. Allow 2-3 hours for this area. **🌋 Day 3 Afternoon: Mount Eden** From Ponsonby, catch bus 277 to Mount Eden village, then walk 15 minutes to the summit. The volcanic cone offers 360-degree views of the city and harbour. The walk takes about 30 minutes round trip, and entry is free.
