**🗺️ Where to Start** Begin your first day in the downtown area around the Nay Pyi Taw City Hall and the nearby Myoma Market. This central hub is walkable and gives you a feel for the city's spacious layout. Arrive early around 8 AM to avoid the midday heat. **🛕 Day 1: Cultural Sites** Visit the Uppatasanti Pagoda, a replica of Yangon's Shwedagon, located on the airport road. It's open daily from 5 AM to 10 PM, and entry is free. Then head to the National Museum (open 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, closed Mondays) to see the royal regalia and ancient artifacts. Allow about 2 hours for each site. **🚌 Getting Around** Nay Pyi Taw is sprawling, so taxis are the most practical option for tourists. A typical ride within the city center costs around 5,000 to 8,000 kyats (about $2.50 to $4). For longer distances, like to the Water Fountain Garden, negotiate a flat rate of 10,000 to 15,000 kyats. Buses are limited and infrequent. **🌳 Day 2: Parks and Gardens** Spend the morning at the Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden, which features musical fountains and landscaped grounds. It's open from 8 AM to 8 PM, with an entry fee of 5,000 kyats. In the afternoon, visit the National Herbal Park (free entry, open 7 AM to 6 PM) to see hundreds of medicinal plants. **🍜 Local Food Spots** For lunch, try the Shan noodles at Aye Myit Tar Restaurant near the Myoma Market, where a bowl costs about 3,000 kyats. For dinner, head to the Junction Centre food court for a variety of Burmese dishes, with mains averaging 5,000 kyats. Street food stalls near the market are also great for quick bites. **🏛️ Day 3: Government Precinct** On your final day, explore the Parliament complex area, but note that access is restricted. You can view the impressive buildings from the outside along the main boulevard. Then visit the nearby Nay Pyi Taw Zoo (open 8 AM to 6 PM, entry 5,000 kyats), which has a large collection of animals and a lake. **🌅 Best Evening Spots** End your days at the Nay Pyi Taw Lake, where you can enjoy a peaceful sunset walk. The lake is free and open until dusk. Alternatively, the Water Fountain Garden has a light and music show at 7 PM, which is a popular evening attraction. **💡 Practical Tips** Carry cash as credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels. The city is very spread out, so plan for 15-20 minute taxi rides between attractions. Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen, as temperatures often exceed 35°C (95°F) even in winter.
