**🍽️ Where to Start** Begin your food tour at the Marché Central on Avenue Mohammed V, where morning vendors sell fresh bread, olives, and pastries from 7 AM to 1 PM. For a classic introduction, try a bowl of harira at the nearby Café Al Andalous (Avenue Hassan II) for around 15 MAD. This area is easily reached by taxi from Kenitra Ville train station, a five-minute ride for about 10 MAD. **🍲 Must-Try Local Dishes** Kenitra is known for its seafood, especially grilled sardines and shrimp, thanks to its Atlantic coast location. Don't miss rfissa, a slow-cooked chicken and lentil dish served at family-run spots like Restaurant La Marée (Avenue des FAR, near the port). A hearty tagine with vegetables and lamb costs between 50 and 80 MAD at most local eateries. **🏪 Street Food Stalls** The evening street food scene comes alive around Place des Nations and the medina's narrow alleys. Look for stalls selling msemen (flatbread) with honey and amlou for 5 to 10 MAD, or grilled corn on the cob for 5 MAD. For the best sardine sandwich, head to the port area around 6 PM, where fishermen sell fresh catches grilled on the spot for about 20 MAD. **🐟 Seafood Specialties** For a sit-down seafood feast, Restaurant Le Dauphin (Avenue Mohammed Diouri, near the beach) serves grilled sole and calamari from 70 to 120 MAD per plate. The port fish market opens daily at 5 AM, and you can buy your own fish to have it grilled at adjacent stalls for a small fee. Oualidia oysters are a seasonal treat, available from October to March at La Perle de l'Atlantique (Route de Mehdia, km 8). **☕ Cafes and Breakfast** Start your day like a local with a café nous-nous and a croissant at Café de la Poste (Avenue Mohammed V, open from 6 AM). For a fuller breakfast, try Bennis Patisserie (Avenue Hassan II) for msemen, beghrir, and fresh orange juice for under 30 MAD. Many cafes offer a set breakfast of bread, jam, cheese, and mint tea for around 25 MAD until 11 AM. **💰 Budget and Mid-Range Eats** Kenitra is very affordable: a street food meal costs 10 to 20 MAD, while a sit-down lunch at a local restaurant runs 40 to 70 MAD. For a mid-range dinner, Restaurant Al Baraka (Avenue des FAR) offers a three-course seafood menu for about 150 MAD per person. Keep in mind that many small eateries are cash-only, so carry small bills. **🌙 Evening Food Spots** As the sun sets, the area around Avenue Mohammed V and the corniche fills with food carts and families. Try the grilled merguez sausages and kefta skewers at the nightly stalls near the beach for 15 to 25 MAD. For a sit-down evening, Le Riad (Rue Ibn Battouta) serves traditional Moroccan dishes in a courtyard setting from 7 PM to 11 PM, with mains around 80 MAD. **🚌 Getting Around for Food** Most food spots are concentrated in the city center, within walking distance of each other. Petit taxis are plentiful and cost about 10 to 15 MAD for short trips; agree on the fare before getting in. Buses run along Avenue Mohammed V every 10 minutes, but walking is often the best way to discover hidden stalls.
