**🗺️ Day 1: Old Town** Start your trip in the historic center, where cobblestone streets and colonial architecture set the tone. Visit the Cathedral of Soledad (open 8 AM to 6 PM, free entry) and the adjacent Plaza Mayor, then wander through the artisan market for local crafts. For lunch, try Casa de la Abuela on Calle Real, where a set menu costs about $12. **🏛️ Day 1: Museums** Spend the afternoon at the Museum of Colonial Art (Calle 5 #3-12, $5 admission, open until 5 PM) and the nearby Archaeological Museum, which houses pre-Columbian artifacts. Both are within a 10-minute walk of each other, so you can easily see them in one go. Finish with a coffee at Café Central, a local favorite since 1952. **🌆 Day 1: Evening Views** As the sun sets, head to Cerro de la Cruz, a hilltop viewpoint just a 15-minute walk from the plaza. The climb takes about 20 minutes and offers panoramic views of the city and the river. For dinner, book a table at El Mirador, which serves regional dishes with a view; mains run $15 to $25. **🚌 Day 2: Riverside District** Take a local bus (line 12, $0.50) from the center to the Riverside District, a 25-minute ride. Explore the restored warehouses along the riverfront, now housing galleries and boutiques. Don't miss the interactive Water Museum (open 10 AM to 4 PM, $3), which explains the city's relationship with the river. **🍽️ Day 2: Food Tour** Join a guided food tour that starts at the Riverside Market (11 AM, $35 per person, includes tastings). You'll sample local specialties like arepas de huevo and fresh river fish, with stops at five family-run stalls. The tour lasts three hours and ends at a chocolate workshop where you can make your own treats. **🌳 Day 2: Parks and Gardens** In the late afternoon, relax at the Botanical Garden (Calle 10, $2, open until 6 PM), a 10-minute walk from the market. The garden features native orchids and a butterfly house, perfect for a leisurely stroll. For a light dinner, try the vegetarian café inside the garden, which closes at 7 PM. **🏞️ Day 3: Nature Reserve** On your last day, take a guided tour to the nearby Sierra de Soledad Nature Reserve, about 45 minutes by shared van (departs 8 AM from the tourist office, $20 round trip). Hike the Sendero de las Cascadas, a 3-hour trail that leads to three waterfalls; bring swimwear for a dip. The tour returns by 2 PM, leaving time for a late lunch. **🛍️ Day 3: Shopping and Farewell** Spend your final afternoon in the Mercado de Artesanías, where you can buy woven textiles and pottery at reasonable prices. Bargaining is expected, so start at 70% of the asking price. End your trip with a sunset drink at the rooftop bar of Hotel Soledad Plaza, which offers a 360-degree view of the city.
