**🗺️ Day 1 Overview** Start your trip in the heart of Xishan, focusing on the historic center and lakeside promenades. Begin at 9:00 AM at the Xishan Old Town, where narrow lanes are lined with traditional tea houses and craft shops. By noon, walk to the nearby Dragon Bridge, a 15-minute stroll, and enjoy panoramic views of the lake. In the afternoon, explore the Xishan Museum (open until 5:00 PM, admission 30 yuan) to understand the region's history. **🚌 Getting Around** Xishan's public bus system is efficient, with routes connecting all major attractions; a single ride costs 2 yuan. For faster travel, use the metro Line 2, which runs from the train station to the Old Town in 20 minutes. Taxis are affordable, with a base fare of 8 yuan, but avoid them during rush hours (8-9 AM and 5-7 PM) due to traffic. Consider renting a bicycle for 15 yuan per day to explore the lakeside paths at your own pace. **🍜 Day 1 Lunch** For a genuine local meal, stop at Grandma's Kitchen on Willow Street, a family-run spot famous for its hand-pulled noodles and dumplings. A hearty bowl of beef noodle soup costs 18 yuan, and the dumplings are 12 yuan for eight pieces. The restaurant opens at 11:00 AM and fills up quickly, so arrive before noon to snag a table. If you prefer a quick bite, the night market stalls near the lake offer grilled skewers for 5 yuan each. **🏞️ Day 2 Nature** Dedicate your second day to the great outdoors, starting with a morning hike up Green Peak, which offers stunning views of the entire valley. The trailhead is a 30-minute bus ride from the city center (Bus 12, get off at Green Peak Station). The hike takes about two hours, and the path is well-marked but steep in places, so wear sturdy shoes. After descending, relax at the nearby Hot Springs, where a soak costs 80 yuan and includes access to the pools until 9:00 PM. **🛍️ Day 2 Shopping** In the afternoon, visit the Xishan Craft Market, located in the renovated warehouse district near the river. You'll find handmade ceramics, silk scarves, and bamboo crafts, with prices ranging from 20 to 200 yuan. Bargaining is expected, so start at 60% of the asking price. The market is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and many vendors accept mobile payments like Alipay. For a unique souvenir, commission a calligraphy artist to write your name in Chinese for 50 yuan. **🌃 Evening Spots** As the sun sets, head to the Riverside Bar Street, a lively stretch of pubs and cafes along the canal. The Moonlight Lounge offers craft beers from 25 yuan and live acoustic music starting at 8:00 PM. For a quieter evening, take a night cruise on the lake, which departs every hour from the East Pier; tickets are 60 yuan and last 40 minutes. The illuminated bridges and pagodas create a magical atmosphere, perfect for photos. **🏛️ Day 3 Culture** On your final day, immerse yourself in Xishan's cultural heritage, beginning with the Temple of the White Cloud, a 1,000-year-old Taoist site. The temple opens at 8:00 AM, and entry costs 40 yuan; allow an hour to explore its courtyards and murals. Next, visit the Silk Weaving Workshop on Mulberry Lane, where you can watch artisans at work and try your hand at a loom. The workshop offers free guided tours at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and you can purchase silk products directly from the factory outlet. **🍵 Tea Tasting** End your trip with a traditional tea ceremony at the Tea House of the Moon, a serene spot overlooking the lake. The ceremony lasts 45 minutes and costs 50 yuan per person, including three different local teas and a selection of pastries. The tea master explains the history and brewing techniques, making it a memorable experience. The tea house is open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and reservations are recommended for weekend afternoons. You can also purchase loose-leaf teas to take home, with prices starting at 30 yuan per 100 grams.
