**🗺️ Day 1 Overview** Start your trip in the city center, where most attractions and hotels are clustered. Begin at the Wafangdian Museum (No. 1 Gongye Road, open 9:00-16:30, free admission) to get historical context. Then walk to the nearby Donggang Square, a popular local hangout with fountains and food stalls. **🏛️ Morning: Museum and Old Town** Spend the morning exploring the museum's exhibits on local geology and the famous diamond mines. Afterward, stroll through the old town area around Yong'an Street, where you'll find traditional shops and snack vendors. Try the local specialty, Wafangdian roasted corn, from a street cart for about 5 CNY. **🍜 Lunch: Local Noodle Shops** For lunch, head to Laobian Noodle House (No. 88 Jiefang Street, open 10:00-21:00), known for its hand-pulled noodles with braised pork. A bowl costs around 15 CNY and is filling enough for an afternoon of sightseeing. If you prefer dumplings, the nearby Dumpling King (No. 12 Zhonghua Road) serves a dozen for 12 CNY. **🌳 Afternoon: Parks and Views** Take a taxi (about 15 minutes, 20 CNY) to the Longtan Mountain Scenic Area, which offers hiking trails and panoramic views of the city. The entrance fee is 30 CNY, and the cable car costs an extra 50 CNY round trip. Alternatively, visit the smaller but charming People's Park in the city center, free and perfect for a relaxing stroll. **🌃 Evening: Night Market** As evening falls, head to the Wafangdian Night Market on Gongye Road, open from 17:00 to 23:00. Sample grilled skewers, fresh seafood, and local desserts like tanghulu (candied hawthorn) for 5-10 CNY per item. It's a lively spot to mingle with locals and end your first day. **🏞️ Day 2: Coastal Excursion** Dedicate your second day to the coast, starting with a 40-minute bus ride (Bus 101, 2 CNY) to the Xianyu Bay Beach. The beach is clean and less crowded than other spots, with umbrellas and chairs for rent at 20 CNY. Spend the morning swimming or walking along the shore, then have lunch at a seaside seafood restaurant like Hai Feng Ge, where a set meal costs about 60 CNY. **⛰️ Afternoon: Geopark Visit** In the afternoon, take a taxi (30 minutes, 50 CNY) to the Wafangdian Geopark, famous for its unique karst landforms and fossil sites. The park is open until 18:00, with an entrance fee of 80 CNY. Guided tours in Chinese are available every hour, but you can also explore the marked trails on your own. **🚌 Getting Around** Wafangdian's public transit is affordable and reliable, with buses costing 1-2 CNY per ride. Taxis start at 8 CNY, and ride-hailing apps like Didi are widely used. For day trips, consider renting a car with a driver for about 300 CNY per day, which is convenient for reaching outlying attractions.
