**🍜 Signature Dishes** Taihe is famous for its savory beef noodles, a hearty bowl of hand-pulled noodles in a rich, spiced broth. The local version often includes tender slices of beef and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. For the most authentic taste, visit the family-run stalls in the old town, where recipes have been passed down for generations. **🥟 Must-Try Street Foods** Don't miss the pan-fried dumplings at the night market on Renmin Road, where a plate of six costs about 8 yuan. Another favorite is the grilled lamb skewers, seasoned with cumin and chili, sold at many stalls for 3 yuan each. These are perfect for a quick, flavorful snack while exploring the city. **🏮 Old Town Eateries** In the old town, head to Laochenghuang Miao Snack Street, a narrow lane lined with traditional eateries. Here, you can try the famous Taihe tofu pudding, a silky dish served with a savory sauce, at the century-old Chen Ji Tofu Shop. Prices are modest, with most dishes under 15 yuan. **🍲 Hotpot Highlights** For a communal dining experience, visit Shujia Hotpot on Zhongshan Road, known for its spicy Sichuan-style broth and fresh ingredients. A meal for two typically costs around 120 yuan, including a variety of meats, vegetables, and noodles. The restaurant is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm, and reservations are recommended on weekends. **🍰 Sweet Treats** Satisfy your sweet tooth with a bowl of sweet fermented rice, a traditional dessert made from glutinous rice and served warm or cold. You can find it at the dessert shop on Jiefang Street, which also offers a range of traditional pastries like sesame balls and red bean cakes. Most items are priced between 5 and 10 yuan. **🍵 Tea and Snacks** After a day of sightseeing, relax at the Qingfeng Tea House on Binhe Road, where you can enjoy a pot of local green tea for 20 yuan. Pair it with a plate of sunflower seeds or dried fruit, and watch the river flow by. The tea house is open from 9 am to 10 pm, and it's a favorite spot for locals to unwind. **🛒 Food Markets** Visit the Taihe Farmers Market on Wenhua Road to see the freshest local produce, including seasonal vegetables, fruits, and spices. The market is busiest in the morning, so arrive early for the best selection. You can also sample homemade pickles and sauces from vendors who have been selling here for decades. **💡 Budget Tips** Eating in Taihe is very affordable, with most street food items costing under 10 yuan and a full meal at a mid-range restaurant around 50 yuan per person. To save money, follow the locals to the food courts in shopping malls, where you can find a variety of dishes at reasonable prices. Also, be sure to carry cash, as some small stalls do not accept mobile payments.
