**🗺️ Day 1 Overview** Start your first day in Songyang's old town, where narrow lanes and Ming-Qing architecture set the tone. Focus on the central area around the Confucian Temple and the nearby markets, which are walkable and full of local life. This keeps your morning free for the highlights without rushing between distant sights. **🏛️ Morning: Old Town** Begin at the Songyang Old Street (西屏老街), a lively pedestrian lane lined with traditional shops and snack stalls. Visit the Confucian Temple (孔庙) at 9:00 AM, open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, admission is 30 RMB. Wander through the adjacent Ming-era residences, many of which still house artisans at work. **🍜 Lunch: Local Flavors** For lunch, head to Mama's Kitchen (妈妈家) on Old Street, known for its handmade noodles and pickled vegetables, with mains around 20-40 RMB. Try the local specialty, 'soup dumplings with bamboo shoots,' a seasonal favorite. The restaurant fills up by noon, so arrive before 11:45 AM to snag a table. **🌄 Afternoon: Countryside** After lunch, take a 30-minute taxi (about 50 RMB) to the terraced fields at Daji Village (大际村), where you can hike the 2-hour loop trail. The views of layered rice paddies and distant hills are stunning in the late afternoon light. Return to town by 5:00 PM to rest before dinner. **🌙 Evening: Night Market** Spend your evening at the Songyang Night Market (松阳夜市), which sets up along the riverbank from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Sample grilled skewers, stinky tofu, and sweet rice wine, with most items costing 10-25 RMB. The market is a great place to mingle with locals and try a variety of snacks. **🚌 Day 2 Transport** On day two, plan to explore the western villages, which require a bit more travel. Public buses from Songyang Bus Station (松阳汽车站) to Shicang Village (石仓村) run every hour from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, taking about 40 minutes and costing 8 RMB. Alternatively, hire a taxi for the day at around 300 RMB, which gives you flexibility. **🏞️ Morning: Shicang Village** Start your morning at Shicang Village, famous for its well-preserved Qing dynasty granaries and ancestral halls. The village is quiet early, so you can enjoy the architecture without crowds. Spend about two hours wandering the stone paths and visiting the Granary Museum (粮仓博物馆), open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, free entry. **🍵 Afternoon: Tea Culture** In the afternoon, head to the nearby Songyang Tea Garden (松阳茶园), a 15-minute drive from Shicang. Join a tea-picking experience at the garden's visitor center, which costs 80 RMB per person and includes a guided tour and tasting. The rolling green hills are perfect for photos, and you can buy fresh tea leaves to take home. **🏨 Day 3: Stay Local** For your final day, stay close to the town center and soak in the slower pace. Visit the Songyang Museum (松阳博物馆) on West Street, open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, free admission, to learn about local history. Then take a leisurely stroll through the Pinewood Park (松林公园), a peaceful green space with ancient trees. **🛍️ Shopping and Departure** Before leaving, browse the artisan shops on Old Street for handmade paper fans and bamboo baskets, with prices starting at 15 RMB. The Songyang High-Speed Rail Station is a 20-minute taxi ride from the town center, costing about 40 RMB. Plan to leave at least an hour before your train to account for security checks.
