**🗺️ Day 1 Overview** Start your first day in the old town center, where most historic sights cluster within walking distance. Begin at the Qianxi Ancient City Wall (open 8:00 to 18:00, admission 30 CNY) and follow the cobblestone path south to the Drum Tower. By noon, you'll have covered the main landmarks without needing a taxi. **🏛️ Morning: Historic Core** Arrive at the Confucius Temple (9:00 to 17:00, 25 CNY) right when it opens to beat the crowds. From there, it's a 10-minute stroll to the Ming Dynasty Governor's Mansion, which houses a small museum on local history. Grab a quick breakfast of sesame flatbread at the street vendors near the temple gate before moving on. **🍜 Lunch: Local Noodles** For lunch, head to Laochen Noodle House at 12 Zhongshan Road, famous for its hand-pulled beef noodles (18 CNY per bowl). The shop fills up by 12:30, so arrive before noon to snag a seat. Pair it with a side of pickled vegetables and a glass of cold soybean milk. **🏞️ Afternoon: Riverside Park** After lunch, walk 15 minutes east to the Qianxi Riverside Park, a green corridor along the Qingyi River. Rent a paddleboat (40 CNY per hour) or simply follow the shaded promenade to the old stone bridge. The park is free, and it's a peaceful spot to watch locals practice tai chi in the late afternoon. **🌃 Evening: Night Market** As dusk falls, make your way to the South Gate Night Market, which opens at 18:00 and runs until 23:00. Sample grilled skewers, stinky tofu, and candied hawthorn from the stalls, with most items costing between 5 and 15 CNY. End the night with a cup of hot jasmine tea at the tea house on the corner of East Street. **🚌 Day 2 Transport** On day two, take bus 101 from the central station to the Western Hills Scenic Area, a 40-minute ride that costs 2 CNY. Alternatively, a taxi will set you back about 50 CNY and take 25 minutes. The bus drops you at the main gate, where you can buy a combined ticket for the cable car and temple complex (120 CNY). **⛰️ Day 2: Western Hills** Spend the morning hiking the Western Hills trail, which winds past the Cloud Temple and the 1,000-year-old pine tree. The full loop takes about three hours, with moderate elevation gain and stunning views over the valley. Pack water and snacks, as the only kiosk is at the cable car station halfway up. **🏯 Day 3: Suburbs** On your final day, take a 30-minute taxi (60 CNY) to the Daxu Ancient Village, a well-preserved Ming-era settlement 20 kilometers south of the city. Wander the narrow alleys, visit the ancestral hall, and watch artisans make traditional paper umbrellas. Entry is 50 CNY, and the village is quietest before 10:00. **🛍️ Day 3: Souvenirs** Before heading back, stop at the village craft cooperative to buy locally made bamboo baskets and embroidered textiles, with prices starting at 20 CNY. The cooperative is run by village women and supports local schools, so your purchase goes a long way. Return to Qianxi by 15:00 to catch an afternoon train or bus.
