**🍜 Must-Try Local Dishes** Linghai is known for its fresh seafood and hearty northeastern flavors. Start with grilled oysters from the Bohai Sea, usually sold at street stalls for around 10 RMB each. Another favorite is 'Linghai fish stew,' a rich soup made with local catch and served with cornbread. Don't miss the chance to try 'suan cai' (pickled cabbage) dishes, a staple in many family-run restaurants. **🏮 Top Restaurants** For a sit-down meal, head to 'Haiwei Xuan' at 123 Zhongyang Road, a popular spot for seafood feasts. Their signature steamed crab with ginger and vinegar costs about 120 RMB. Another reliable choice is 'Linghai Renjia' on 45 Renmin Street, where a full meal for two runs around 150 RMB. Both places are open from 11:00 to 21:00 daily. **🌃 Street Food Stalls** The night market on Wenhua Road comes alive after 6 PM with sizzling skewers and fried noodles. Try the lamb skewers at 'Old Zhang's Stall' for 5 RMB each, or grab a bowl of hot and sour noodles for 8 RMB. Another must-visit is the stall near the bus station on Jiefang Street, famous for its grilled squid and cold beer. **🍚 Breakfast Spots** Start your day with a bowl of congee and fried dough sticks at 'Morning Star Breakfast' on 78 Xinhua Road. A set meal costs about 10 RMB and is served from 6:00 to 9:30. For something heartier, try the steamed buns with pork filling at the corner of Shiyou Street and Hongqi Road, where locals line up early. **🍢 Night Market Eats** Linghai's night markets are a feast for the senses. The Dongfeng Night Market on Dongfeng Street offers everything from stinky tofu to grilled corn, with most snacks priced between 5 and 15 RMB. It runs from 5 PM to midnight, and the busiest stalls are near the east entrance. Bring cash, as some vendors don't accept mobile payments. **🍽️ Family-Friendly Dining** If you're traveling with kids, 'Green Garden Restaurant' at 210 Heping Road has a spacious seating area and a menu that includes mild options like egg fried rice and sweet and sour pork. A family meal for four costs around 200 RMB. They also offer high chairs and are open from 10:30 to 21:30. **💰 Budget Eating Tips** You can eat well in Linghai for under 30 RMB per meal if you stick to street food and small eateries. Look for 'combo' deals at local noodle shops, where a bowl of noodles with toppings often costs 12 to 18 RMB. Avoid tourist-heavy areas near the main square, and instead explore side streets like Minzhu Road for cheaper, tastier options. **🚌 Getting Around** Most food spots are concentrated in the city center, so walking or taking a short taxi ride is easiest. A taxi within the central area costs about 10 RMB, and buses 1, 3, and 5 all pass through the night market district. If you're coming from the train station, take bus 2 to Wenhua Road for the best street food.
