**🍜 Signature Dishes** Lingbao's food scene centers on hearty wheat-based dishes, with the local lamian (hand-pulled noodles) being a must-try. Another local favorite is roujiamo, a crispy flatbread stuffed with spiced braised pork, often called the Chinese hamburger. For a taste of tradition, sample the region's vinegar-based cold noodles, which are tangy and refreshing on a warm day. **🏪 Top Restaurants** For a sit-down meal, head to Lao Cheng Yi Guan (老城一馆) on Xin Hua Road, known for its generous portions of braised pork and seasonal vegetables; a meal for two costs around 80 to 120 yuan. Another reliable choice is Xiang Man Lou (香满楼) near the central square, where the hand-pulled noodles are made fresh daily and a bowl costs 12 to 18 yuan. Both places are popular with locals, so arrive before 7 p.m. to avoid a wait. **🥟 Street Food Stalls** The evening street food market along Jiefang Road comes alive after 6 p.m., with stalls selling jianbing (savory crepes), grilled skewers, and steaming dumplings. Try the chive and egg dumplings from Auntie Wang's stall near the intersection with Yingbin Road; a plate of ten costs just 8 yuan. For a sweet treat, look for the candied hawthorn skewers, a classic snack that vendors carry on bamboo sticks. **🍢 Night Market Highlights** The night market on Dongguan Street is the best place to sample a variety of local snacks in one go. Don't miss the spicy crayfish, which are stir-fried with chili and Sichuan peppercorns, priced at about 30 yuan per portion. Another highlight is the grilled lamb skewers, seasoned with cumin and served hot off the charcoal grill; a skewer costs 3 yuan. Vendors typically stay open until midnight on weekends. **🍵 Tea and Desserts** After a savory meal, stop by Qing Feng Tea House (清风茶社) on Wen Hua Road for a cup of local green tea, served with traditional pastries like osmanthus cake. The tea house is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and a pot of tea costs 25 yuan, including refills. For a modern twist, try the bubble tea shop next to the cinema, which offers a local specialty: jujube milk tea with chewy tapioca pearls. **💰 Budget Tips** Eating well in Lingbao Chengguanzhen is affordable, with most street snacks costing between 5 and 15 yuan. For a full meal at a mid-range restaurant, expect to pay 40 to 60 yuan per person. To save money, visit the food stalls during lunchtime, when many vendors offer set meals with a drink for a few yuan less than dinner prices. **📍 Where to Find** Most of the best food is concentrated in the old town area, especially around the intersection of Xin Hua Road and Jiefang Road. The pedestrian street near the central square is another hotspot, with a mix of permanent eateries and mobile carts. For a more local experience, wander into the residential alleys off Yingbin Road, where small family-run shops serve home-style dishes that rarely appear on tourist menus.
