**🗺️ Day 1 Morning** Start your first day at the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Lhasa, located on Barkhor Square. Arrive right at 8:00 AM when it opens to avoid the crowds and see the morning prayers. The entrance fee is 85 CNY, and you'll need your passport for the ticket purchase. **🛍️ Day 1 Afternoon** After the temple, walk the Barkhor Street kora, a circular pilgrimage route lined with shops selling Tibetan crafts and souvenirs. Stop for a traditional sweet tea at the famous光明港琼甜茶馆 (Guangming Gangjiong Sweet Tea House) on Barkhor Street, where a cup costs just 1 CNY. Then, head to the nearby Ramoche Temple, a smaller but equally historic site, open until 5:30 PM with an entrance fee of 30 CNY. **🌆 Day 1 Evening** In the evening, climb to the rooftop of the Jokhang Temple for a panoramic view of the old town and the Potala Palace in the distance. The rooftop is accessible until 6:00 PM, and the view is especially beautiful at sunset. For dinner, try the Nepalese and Tibetan fusion at the Mandala Restaurant, located at 8 Barkhor Street, with mains averaging 60 to 100 CNY. **🏛️ Day 2 Morning** Dedicate your second morning to the Potala Palace, the iconic landmark of Lhasa. Book your ticket online at least a day in advance (200 CNY in peak season) and enter at your assigned time, usually between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM. The climb up the 300 steps is steep, so take it slowly to adjust to the altitude. **🍜 Day 2 Afternoon** After descending from the palace, walk to the nearby Norbulingka, the summer residence of the Dalai Lamas, just 20 minutes on foot. The gardens are peaceful, and the entrance fee is 60 CNY. For lunch, try the local favorite, thukpa (noodle soup), at the Snowland Restaurant on Beijing East Road, where a bowl costs around 25 CNY. **🌄 Day 2 Evening** In the late afternoon, visit the Sera Monastery, about 8 kilometers north of the city center, a 20-minute taxi ride (around 30 CNY). The monks' debates start at 3:00 PM and are a fascinating glimpse into Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery closes at 5:30 PM, so plan to arrive by 2:30 PM to explore the halls before the debates. **🏞️ Day 3 Day Trip** On your final day, take a day trip to the Yamdrok Lake, about a 2-hour drive (100 kilometers) from Lhasa. Hire a private car for around 800 CNY or join a group tour for about 300 CNY per person, which includes a stop at the Kamba La Pass for stunning views. The lake is a sacred turquoise body of water, and the drive itself offers breathtaking mountain scenery. **🚌 Getting Around** Lhasa's city center is compact, and most major sights are within walking distance, but taxis are cheap, with a base fare of 10 CNY. Public buses cost 1 to 2 CNY and cover the main routes, but they can be crowded and confusing for first-time visitors. For the airport, take the airport shuttle from the Civil Aviation Ticket Office on Niangre Road, which costs 30 CNY and takes about 1 hour.
