**🏛️ Start at the Museum** Begin your visit at the Leping Museum (No. 1 Renmin Road), which houses a remarkable collection of ancient porcelain and local artifacts. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and admission is free. It's the perfect introduction to the city's long history as a ceramic hub. **🏺 Explore the Ancient Kilns** Just outside the city center, the Leping Ancient Kiln Site (Leping Kiln Ruins, 15 km east) offers a glimpse into centuries-old firing techniques. You can walk through the preserved kiln chambers and see ongoing archaeological work. Guided tours run every hour from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and tickets cost 30 yuan. **🌿 Hike Mount Wushan** Mount Wushan, located 20 minutes by bus from downtown, is a favorite local escape with forested trails and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The main loop takes about two hours, and the trailhead is free to enter. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes, as some sections are steep. **🛶 Paddle on Le'an River** Rent a small boat at the Le'an River Wharf (near the South Bridge) and drift along the calm water for a relaxing afternoon. Boats cost 50 yuan per hour, and no experience is needed. The best time to go is late afternoon, when the light turns golden and the riverbanks come alive with birds. **🍜 Taste Local Noodles** Don't leave without trying Leping's famous cold noodles, served with a tangy sesame sauce and chili oil. Head to Old Street Noodle House (No. 88 Zhongshan Road), where a bowl costs just 8 yuan. The shop opens at 7:00 AM and often sells out by early afternoon, so go early. **🎭 Catch a Local Opera** Leping is known for its traditional Gan opera, and the Leping Grand Theater (No. 12 Jiefang Road) hosts performances most Friday and Saturday evenings. Tickets range from 40 to 80 yuan, and shows typically start at 7:30 PM. Even if you don't understand the dialect, the colorful costumes and acrobatic movements are a spectacle. **🛍️ Shop at the Night Market** The Leping Night Market, set along the pedestrian street near the East Gate, comes alive after 6:00 PM with food stalls and souvenir vendors. You'll find handmade ceramics, local snacks, and cheap clothing. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the asking price. The market runs until midnight on weekends. **🚌 Getting Around** Buses are the most affordable way to get around Leping, with most routes costing just 2 yuan. Taxis are also plentiful and start at 7 yuan for the first three kilometers. For day trips to the kiln site or Mount Wushan, consider renting a shared e-bike from the many docking stations downtown.
