**🍜 Must-Try Dishes** Harbin is famous for its Russian-influenced cuisine and hearty northern Chinese fare. The iconic dish is Guo Bao Rou (锅包肉), a sweet and sour deep-fried pork, best enjoyed at Laochangchun (老昌春饼) on Zhongyang Street. Another local staple is Harbin-style smoked sausage (红肠), which you can sample at Qiulin (秋林公司) on Dongdazhi Street. **🥟 Where to Eat Dumplings** For authentic dumplings, head to Dongfang Dumpling King (东方饺子王) on Zhongyang Street, where a plate of pork and cabbage dumplings costs around 30 CNY. Another excellent option is Xilaifu Dumplings (喜来福饺子) on Guogeli Street, known for their thin wrappers and juicy fillings. Both are open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. **🍖 Russian & Western Fare** Harbin's Russian heritage shines at Huamei Western Restaurant (华梅西餐厅) at 112 Zhongyang Street, serving borscht and beef stroganoff since 1925. A full meal costs about 100-150 CNY per person. For a more modern take, try Portman (波特曼西餐厅) on Xidazhi Street, where the lamb chops and red wine are popular among locals. **🥘 Street Food Hotspots** The night market on Guogeli Street (果戈里大街) comes alive after 5:00 PM with stalls selling grilled skewers, stinky tofu, and candied hawthorns. Prices range from 5 to 20 CNY per item. For a unique Harbin experience, try the ice cream sold on Zhongyang Street even in winter, like the famous Harbin Ice Cream (哈尔滨冰糕) at 10 CNY per cup. **🍺 Local Breweries & Bars** Harbin Brewery (哈尔滨啤酒厂) at 1 Youyi Road offers tours and tastings of its famous beer, with a pint costing around 15 CNY. For craft beer, visit Biergarten (啤酒花园) on Zhongyang Street, which features local microbrews and German-style sausages. Most bars are open until midnight. **🍰 Bakeries & Desserts** Russian-style bakeries are a must, with Qiulin Bakery (秋林面包) on Dongdazhi Street selling traditional breads and pastries like the Harbin-style big bread (大列巴) for 20 CNY. For a sweet treat, try the ice cream at Moda (马迭尔) on Zhongyang Street, a historic brand that has been operating since 1906. **💰 Budget & Price Tips** A typical meal at a local restaurant costs 30-60 CNY per person, while street food snacks are 5-20 CNY. Fine dining at Russian restaurants runs 100-200 CNY per person. Most places accept WeChat Pay or Alipay, but cash is useful for small stalls. Tipping is not customary in China. **📍 Neighborhood Food Tours** Start your food journey on Zhongyang Street (中央大街), the main pedestrian thoroughfare lined with restaurants and snack stalls. Then head to Guogeli Street (果戈里大街) for a more local vibe and street food. For a quieter experience, explore the Daoli District (道里区) around Jingwei Street, where family-run eateries serve home-style dishes.
