**🏛️ Start at the Old Town** Begin your exploration at Guankou Old Town, where narrow lanes are lined with Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. The main street, Zhongshan Road, is pedestrian-only and filled with tea houses and souvenir shops. Entry is free, and most buildings are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. **⛰️ Hike Mount Qinglong** For panoramic views of the region, hike Mount Qinglong, located just 3 kilometers east of the town center. The trail is well-marked and takes about 90 minutes round trip. The best time to go is early morning to avoid crowds and catch the sunrise over the misty peaks. **🍜 Taste Local Noodles** Guankou is famous for its hand-pulled noodles, especially at Lao Wang Noodle House on Wenhua Road. A bowl costs around 15 yuan and is served with a rich beef broth and fresh vegetables. Arrive before noon, as they often sell out by 1 p.m. **🎭 Watch a Shadow Puppet Show** The Guankou Shadow Puppet Theater on Dongmen Street offers nightly performances at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are 30 yuan for adults, and the show lasts about an hour. The puppeteers have been practicing for generations, and you can even try your hand at manipulating a puppet after the show. **🚲 Cycle the Countryside** Rent a bicycle from the shop near the bus station for 20 yuan per day and explore the surrounding rice terraces and bamboo groves. A popular route is the 10-kilometer loop to Qinglong Village, passing ancient bridges and small temples. The terrain is mostly flat, making it suitable for casual riders. **🛍️ Shop at the Night Market** Every evening from 6 p.m., the night market sets up along Binhe Road, offering local snacks, handmade crafts, and clothing. Try the grilled skewers and sticky rice cakes, which cost about 5 yuan each. Bargaining is expected, so start at half the asking price. **🏯 Visit the Confucian Temple** The Guankou Confucian Temple, built in 1567, is a serene complex with ancient cypress trees and stone carvings. Admission is 10 yuan, and it is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The temple hosts a traditional ceremony every spring equinox, which is a unique cultural experience. **☕ Relax at a Tea House** After a day of sightseeing, unwind at the Tea Garden Teahouse on Xinhua Street, where a pot of local green tea costs 25 yuan. The staff can explain the tea ceremony and let you sample different varieties. It is a quiet spot to watch the sunset over the rooftops.
