**🍜 Start at Guangming Market** Begin your food tour at Guangming Central Market on Gongming Street, where you'll find dozens of stalls selling everything from fresh produce to prepared snacks. The market opens at 6 AM and stays busy until around 8 PM, with the best selection in the morning. Must-tries include the handmade rice noodles at Stall 23 (around 10 RMB) and the crispy scallion pancakes at Stall 45 (5 RMB). **🥟 Best Dim Sum Spots** For excellent dim sum, head to Guangming Garden Restaurant at 88 Guangming Avenue. Their shrimp dumplings (har gow) and pork siu mai are local favorites, priced at 25-35 RMB per basket. Arrive before 11 AM on weekends to avoid the queue, as the restaurant fills up quickly with families. Another solid option is the smaller but equally tasty Dim Sum House on Zhenxing Road, open from 7 AM to 2 PM daily. **🍢 Street Food on Zhenxing Road** Zhenxing Road transforms into a street food haven every evening from 5 PM to midnight. Look for the grilled squid skewers (10 RMB each) and the stinky tofu stall that has been operating for over 15 years. The garlic noodles from the cart near the intersection with Guangming Street are a steal at 8 RMB per portion. Bring cash, as many vendors don't accept mobile payments. **🍚 Local Rice Noodle Shops** Guangming is famous for its rice noodle soup, and two spots stand out. At Old Street Rice Noodles (45 Guangming Old Street), a bowl of beef brisket noodles costs 18 RMB and comes with a rich, slow-cooked broth. The shop is open from 7 AM to 9 PM. For a lighter option, try the fish ball rice noodle soup at Ah Mei Noodles on Gongming Road, priced at 15 RMB and served until 10 PM. **🍤 Seafood by the Reservoir** Head to the restaurants near Guangming Reservoir for fresh seafood at reasonable prices. The Reservoir Seafood House (12 Reservoir Road) offers steamed fish and garlic prawns, with mains ranging from 40 to 80 RMB. It's open for lunch and dinner, and the outdoor seating provides a nice view. Reservations are recommended on weekends, especially for groups. **🍰 Sweet Treats and Desserts** For dessert, visit Sweet Corner on Guangming Avenue, known for its mango pomelo sago (20 RMB) and black sesame soup (15 RMB). The shop is small but cozy, open from noon to 10 PM. Another favorite is the traditional double-skin milk pudding at Grandma's Dessert on Zhenxing Road, priced at 12 RMB and served until 9 PM. Both places are popular with locals, so expect a short wait. **🍺 Evening Food Streets** When the sun goes down, Guangming's night food streets come alive. The area around Guangming Square is packed with barbecue stalls and beer tents from 6 PM to 1 AM. Try the grilled oysters (15 RMB each) and the spicy crayfish (68 RMB per plate) at the stalls lining the square. For a more relaxed vibe, the beer garden at the corner of Zhenxing and Gongming Roads offers local craft beers for around 30 RMB per pint. **💡 Practical Tips for Foodies** Most street food stalls and small restaurants in Guangming operate on a cash basis, so carry small bills. The best time to explore is on weekdays when crowds are thinner, and lunch hours (11:30 AM to 1:30 PM) are peak times. To get around, use the Guangming Metro Line 6, which stops at Guangming and Gongming stations, both within walking distance of the main food areas. Budget around 50-100 RMB per person for a full day of eating.
