**🗺️ Where to Start** Base yourself in the city center near Avenue Kwame N'Krumah for easy access to markets and museums. The area around the Independence Square is walkable and has several mid-range hotels like Hotel Splendid, with rooms from 30,000 CFA per night. **🌅 Day 1: Central Landmarks** Start at the National Museum of Music (open 9am-5pm, entry 2,000 CFA) to understand local culture. Walk to the Grand Mosque (free, modest dress required) and then to the lively Rood Woko market for souvenirs. End the day with dinner at Le Verdoyant, a popular local restaurant serving grilled fish and alloco. **🎨 Day 2: Arts and Crafts** Spend the morning at the Village Artisanal de Ouagadougou (open 8am-6pm, free entry) to see artisans at work. Take a taxi (about 2,000 CFA) to the Moro-Naba Palace for the ceremonial courtyard (best visited before noon). In the afternoon, visit the Musée de la Musique for a deeper dive into traditional instruments. **🌿 Day 3: Nature and Relaxation** Head to the Parc Urbain Bangr-Weoogo (open 6am-6pm, entry 1,000 CFA) for a morning walk among baobab trees and small wildlife. After lunch at a nearby maquis, take a taxi to the Ouagadougou Cathedral (free, open daily) for its striking architecture. End your trip with a sunset at the Lac du Barrage, a reservoir popular with locals. **🚕 Getting Around** Taxis are the most convenient option, with short trips costing 1,000-2,000 CFA within the city center. Negotiate the fare before boarding. For longer distances, shared minibuses (sotramas) run along main routes for 200-500 CFA but can be crowded. Walking is pleasant in the central grid, but avoid walking alone after dark. **🍴 Best Evening Spots** For a lively evening, head to the Quartier de la Patte d'Oie, known for its nightlife with bars and live music venues like Le Bar de l'Amitié. For a quieter dinner, try La Table du Marché near the central market, serving French-Burkinabé fusion dishes around 10,000 CFA per person. Always confirm opening hours as they can vary. **💡 Local Prices** A typical lunch at a local maquis costs 2,000-4,000 CFA for a hearty plate of riz gras or poulet bicyclette. Bottled water is 300 CFA, and a beer at a bar is around 1,000 CFA. Carry small bills for markets and taxis, as change can be scarce. ATMs are widely available in the city center, but not all accept foreign cards.
