**🏖️ Pelourinho for History Lovers** Pelourinho is the historic heart of Salvador, with colorful colonial buildings and cobblestone streets. It is ideal for travelers who want to be steps away from major attractions like the São Francisco Church. Budget options include hostels like Hostel Pelourinho, while mid-range hotels like Hotel Casa do Amarelindo offer charm. Note that it can be noisy at night due to bars and music. **🌃 Rio Vermelho for Nightlife** Rio Vermelho is the go-to neighborhood for nightlife, packed with bars, restaurants, and live music venues. It suits solo travelers and groups looking to party, with places like Bar da Gema and San Sebastian. Accommodation ranges from affordable hostels to boutique hotels like Hotel Villa Bahia. Expect lively streets until late, so it is not ideal for light sleepers. **🍜 Barra for Families and Beach** Barra offers a relaxed beach vibe with the iconic Farol da Barra lighthouse and calm waters. It is perfect for families, with plenty of kid-friendly restaurants and easy access to the beach. Mid-range hotels like Hotel Porto da Barra and resorts such as Pestana Convento do Carmo provide comfort. The neighborhood is safe and walkable, with good bus connections. **💻 Vitória for Digital Nomads** Vitória is a quieter, upscale residential area popular with digital nomads and remote workers. It has reliable internet, coworking spaces like Impact Hub Salvador, and a central location. Accommodation includes serviced apartments and boutique hotels like Hotel Villa Bahia. You will find good cafes and restaurants without the tourist crowds. **💰 Budget Stays in Liberdade** Liberdade is a vibrant Afro-Brazilian neighborhood with affordable guesthouses and hostels. It offers a more local experience, with street markets and cultural centers like the Museu da Liberdade. Prices are lower than touristy areas, with private rooms starting around R$80 per night. Be mindful of safety at night and stick to well-lit streets. **🏨 Luxury in Ondina** Ondina is a beachfront neighborhood with high-end hotels and resorts, such as the Sol Bahia Hotel. It suits travelers seeking comfort, pools, and ocean views, with direct beach access. Rates are higher, starting at R$400 per night, but you get amenities like spas and fine dining. It is a bit removed from the historic center, so plan for taxis or rideshares. **🚌 Getting Around Tips** Salvador's neighborhoods are spread out, so consider your base carefully. The metro connects the city center to suburbs, but buses and Uber are common for shorter trips. Staying in Barra or Rio Vermelho gives you easy access to both beaches and the historic center. Taxis from the airport to most neighborhoods cost around R$60 to R$100.
