**🌳 Start at Cathedral Square** Begin your visit at Praça da Catedral, the city's central square, where the Catedral Basílica Menor de Nossa Senhora da Glória stands out with its modern cone-shaped design. The square is lively in the evenings, with families and street performers, and it's a great spot to people-watch. Admission is free, and it's open 24 hours, though the cathedral itself is open for mass daily at 7 AM and 6 PM. **🌿 Explore Grevílea Park** Parque do Ingá, also known as Bosque dos Grevileas, is a lush urban forest with walking trails and a small lake. It's perfect for a morning jog or a leisurely stroll; entry is free and it's open from 6 AM to 8 PM. Insider tip: visit on weekdays to avoid crowds, and bring insect repellent during the summer months. **🏛️ Discover Local History** The Museu da Bacia do Paraná, located at Avenida Colombo, 5790, offers a deep dive into the region's history and indigenous culture. Housed in a historic building, the museum charges a small entrance fee of R$5 and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Check for temporary exhibitions that often feature local artists. **🍽️ Taste Local Flavors** For a true taste of Maringá, head to the Mercadão Municipal on Avenida XV de Novembro, where you can sample fresh produce and local snacks like pastel and caldo de cana. The market is open Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 6 PM, and it's a great place to buy regional crafts. Don't miss the chance to try a typical dish like galinhada at one of the food stalls. **🎭 Catch a Show** The Teatro Calil Haddad, at Avenida XV de Novembro, 701, is the city's main theater and hosts a variety of performances, from plays to concerts. Check the schedule online; tickets range from R$20 to R$60. The theater's modern architecture and intimate atmosphere make it a worthwhile evening out. **🚴 Rent a Bike** Maringá is bike-friendly, with over 100 km of cycle paths. Rent a bike from one of the city's bike-sharing stations, like the one at Praça da Catedral, for R$5 per hour. A popular route is along Avenida Colombo to Parque do Ingá, which takes about 20 minutes and offers a scenic ride. **🌅 Watch the Sunset** For a stunning sunset, head to the Mirante do Parque do Ingá, a viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the city. It's free to access and open until 8 PM. Bring a camera and arrive early to secure a good spot, especially on weekends. **🛍️ Shop at the Mall** Shopping Cidade Maringá, at Avenida São Paulo, 1200, is the largest mall in the city, with over 200 stores and a food court. It's open Monday to Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM and Sunday from 2 PM to 8 PM. Look for local brands and enjoy a movie at the cinema if the weather turns rainy.
