**🌳 Green Spaces and Parks** Start at Parque do Paço, the city's main green area next to the Paço Municipal at Avenida Antônio Piranga, 1500. It's free, open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, and has a running track, skate park, and a lake with pedal boats (about R$10 for 30 minutes). For a quieter escape, Parque Ecológico do Eldorado at Rua das Acácias, 120, offers shaded trails and a small playground, open Tuesday to Sunday, 8 AM to 5 PM. **🏛️ Cultural Centers and Museums** Centro Cultural Diadema at Rua Graciosa, 300, hosts free art exhibitions, theater, and music workshops; check their schedule for weekend performances. The Museu de Diadema, housed in the former Câmara Municipal building at Praça da Sé, 45, tells the city's industrial history and is open Wednesday to Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with free entry. Don't miss the monthly artisan fair in the courtyard on the first Saturday. **🍽️ Local Food and Markets** Feira de Diadema at Rua São João, 800, runs every Wednesday and Saturday from 6 AM to 2 PM, selling fresh produce, pastéis, and regional cheeses. For a sit-down meal, try Restaurante do Zé at Avenida São José, 1200, known for its feijoada (R$45) served on Saturdays. The Municipal Market at Rua das Flores, 50, is a good spot for cheap eats like coxinhas and caldo de cana, open Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 6 PM. **🎭 Theaters and Live Shows** Teatro Municipal de Diadema at Avenida Antônio Piranga, 1500, hosts free or low-cost plays, dance, and concerts; tickets are usually R$10 to R$20 and sell out fast, so check the online schedule. For a more casual vibe, Bar do Rock at Rua Ipiranga, 230, has live rock and MPB bands on Friday and Saturday nights, with a R$15 cover charge. The Centro Cultural also runs a cinema club on Thursdays at 7 PM, showing Brazilian films for free. **🛍️ Shopping and Souvenirs** Shopping Diadema at Avenida Fábio Eduardo Ramos Esquível, 1000, is the main mall with over 200 stores, a food court, and a cinema; it's open Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday, 2 PM to 8 PM. For local crafts, visit the Associação de Artesãos at Rua das Palmeiras, 75, where you can buy handmade ceramics and textiles starting at R$20. The mall also has a free shuttle from the Diadema bus terminal every 30 minutes. **🚌 Getting Around** Diadema is served by several bus lines from São Paulo, including the 5106-10 from Jabaquara metro station (about 40 minutes, fare R$4.40). Within the city, local buses like the 01 and 02 connect the center to neighborhoods; use the Bilhete Único card for transfers. Taxis and ride-hailing apps are readily available, but avoid rush hour (5 PM to 7 PM) on Avenida Antônio Piranga. **🎉 Annual Events and Festivals** The Festa do Peão de Diadema in June at the Parque do Paço features rodeo shows, food stalls, and live sertanejo music; entry is around R$20 per day. In September, the Festa das Nações at Praça da Sé celebrates the city's diverse immigrant communities with food and dance performances, free to attend. Check the city's official website for exact dates, as they change slightly each year. **💡 Insider Tips** Many attractions are free or cheap, but bring cash for markets and small eateries since not all accept cards. Weekdays are less crowded at parks and museums, and the Centro Cultural often has last-minute tickets for popular shows. For a local experience, join the free walking tour from Praça da Sé on Saturday mornings at 9 AM, led by residents who share stories about Diadema's industrial past.
