**🌊 Surf and Beach Basics** Start your trip at Surfers Paradise Beach, where the lifeguard-patrolled area between the flagged zones is safest for swimming. For a more laid-back vibe, head to Burleigh Heads Beach, a favorite among locals, with its grassy park and clear water. If you're new to surfing, book a lesson with Get Wet Surf School at Currumbin, which offers group classes for around $60 per person. **🌿 Lush Hinterland Escapes** Escape the coast for a day in the Gold Coast Hinterland, home to Springbrook National Park and its famous Natural Bridge. The 1.1-kilometer circuit to the cave is easy and free, but arrive early to secure parking. For a longer hike, try the 4-kilometer Warrie Circuit in Springbrook, which rewards you with waterfalls and rainforest views. **🎢 Theme Park Strategy** The Gold Coast's big three parks are Warner Bros. Movie World, Dreamworld, and Sea World, each with its own thrill rides and family attractions. To save money, buy a multi-park pass online in advance, as single-day tickets cost around $80 to $100. Visit on weekdays during school terms to avoid the longest queues, and download the park's app for real-time ride wait times. **🐬 Wildlife Encounters** Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a must for animal lovers, with daily kangaroo feedings and koala photo sessions. The sanctuary is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and admission is about $60 for adults. For a more intimate experience, take a twilight tour to see nocturnal creatures like sugar gliders and bilbies. **🍽️ Local Food Scene** For a taste of the Gold Coast's culinary scene, head to the Burleigh Heads dining precinct, where you'll find The Tropic, known for its wood-fired pizzas and craft cocktails. For fresh seafood, visit the Fishermen's Co-op at the Spit, which serves fish and chips with ocean views. Budget-friendly eaters should check out the NightQuarter food truck market in Helensvale, open Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. **🛍️ Shopping and Markets** Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach is the largest mall on the coast, with over 400 stores and a stylish open-air design. For unique souvenirs, browse the artisan stalls at the Village Markets, held on the first and third Sunday of each month at Burleigh Heads State School. If you're after surf gear, check out the outlet stores at Harbour Town, where you can find discounts on brands like Billabong and Roxy. **🚌 Getting Around** The G:link light rail runs from Helensvale to Broadbeach, with stops at all major beachside hubs, and a single trip costs around $3.50 using a go card. Buses connect inland areas and theme parks, but for flexibility, consider renting a car, especially if you plan to explore the hinterland. Ride-share services like Uber are widely available, but surge pricing can spike during events. **🌅 Sunset and Nightlife** For a memorable sunset, walk to the top of Burleigh Headland, where you can watch the sky turn pink over the ocean. When night falls, head to Surfers Paradise for a lively bar scene, with venues like Cocktails and Dreams offering themed nights and happy hours. If you prefer a quieter evening, catch a movie at the outdoor Sunset Cinema in the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, which runs from November to February.
