Order it as sua da if you want it less sweet, the salt still comes through without the sugar hit. It's a small spot so seating fills up fast on weekends. Grab it to go and walk the alley nearby.

The bac xiu, and go before 8am.

Fine pick, but you left out that they close oddly early in the afternoon, so don't treat it as a late stop. And the queue moves faster than it looks, so don't let the crowd scare you off.

Bac xiu's the move, cash only though.

Skip the sugar syrup entirely if you want the salt to actually register, and bring small notes since they rarely break a 500k.

Cash tip jar also gets you faster service.

Their ca phe muoi is the actual draw.

only caveat is seating, tiny place

Eight is early but you'll beat the office crowd that way.

I've only been there once and got the salted coffee since that's the obvious pick, though the coconut one looked better honestly. A detour from District 1 is a stretch unless you're already nearby.

Is 65k for a com tam in Ho Chi Minh City normal in 2026?

Stopped at Quán cơm Nga near Ben Thanh and got charged 65k for a plate of com tam with a fried egg. Is that about right for this area or did I get the tourist price? 65k is on the higher side but not crazy for that Ben Thanh pocket, rents there are nuts. Walk 10 min west toward Nguyen Trai and you'll find com tam plates for 35 to 45k. The 65k is basically the location tax.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the location tax is real but even the stalls tucked in the alley off Le Thanh Ton hover around 50 to 55k now

Agree, rents spiked after 2024
